BS mate  :sleepystuff: .

My wife has an RX8 with only around 4k on it now. Bring your work ute around and I will prove they ain't that slow in a straight line. I have no doubt that they run a low 14. It's amazing what revving the thing to damn near 9000rpm and then dumping the clutch does.........and it is not as brutal as it sounds they have that much grip. In gear acceleration it not that bad either it's just that they have no torque. Point the thing at a corner and bye bye anything trying to follow it (bar some expensive cars).

Stock for stock, an auto T properly driven (stalled up) against a RX8 properly driven will be very, very close and I am prepared to use my wife's RX8 against anyone in Brisbane to find out????? :sleepystuff:

Dunnu but I have no reason to BS - my usual ride is a CBR600 :sleepystuff:

Myabe it was an auto RX8 - don't they have less power?

If it was an auto, then yes I would agree, as they do have less power - but more torque. I couldn't imagine how :sleepystuff: an auto one of those would be to drive!!

I know that after getting out of my F6 and into that feels v-e-r-y slow.............but you would expect that.

Sorry mate, I didn't mean to sound that harsh before. I should have know that a hairdresser would buy one of those and probably an auto one at that! :sleepystuff:

Manual RX8 approx 180kw

Auto RX8 approx 139kw

Suffice it to say the auto rx8 is a joke. And even ze germans couldn't make an auto tranny that could harness the free revving goodness of a rotary. The torque converter I assume most if not all autos would have would kill yer power.

No worries, I found it hard to beleive when it was actually happening but now that I find out the auto has only 139kw its not really surprising anymore!

Man good point. everyone assumes that all japanese cars (eg s15 silvia and rx8) are dorifto machines straight off of the factory floor. But most are designed to understeer and autos. Because doriftos are poor bums that buy 3rd hand cars from wreckers and hairdressers and old biddys spend $80K on cars!

Even the sons on indonesian guerilla war lords studying engineering here that buy the dorifto spec ones are too scared to drive them anyway.

F6 Rapid, take it down the qtr & we'll see how quick it really is, you can't have it both ways, high reving & quick launch!!!

Once they're rolling it's a different story, but from a standing start rotaries are hopeless.

I'd be very surprised if it does get into the 14 sec qtr mile!!
