Hi all

I know this topic has been done to death, but I am looking to test drive a new Phoon in the next few days and I hope I can get some help with the infamous Falcon driveline shunt.

I have never driven a manual Falcon of any description (have owned autos all my Ford life) and want to listen/feel for the driveline shunt I've read so much about here and elsewhere.

Some questions relating to when I'm most likely to feel it...

1. Is it prevalent in the new BF Typhoon (manual)?

2. What exactly should I expect to hear/feel?

3. When is it most likely to occur? Down-gearing? Up-shifting? Slowing down?

4. Is it only found in the manual?

5. How bad is it really? Enough to turn you off the car?

Thanks for your input.

1. cant help you

2. it just clunks, and the car jerks forward and backward a bit.

3. when going up through the gears it is most noticable for me, but pulling the clutch out too quick when downshifting will cause it too.

4. much more noticeable on the manual but I think it is evident on the auto's too..

5. it didn't turn me off the car but it does become a pain in traffic..

still wouldn't trade the t for anythin else but :spit:

Mine is at its worst crawling along slowly and depressing the clutch in 1st gear. The car will bunny hop and clunk. you can also get ti by putting the clutch in/out in 1st going slowly and you will hear a clunk each time.

Exactly the same as the old man Pursuit, doesn't have it going up the gears though which is good...
