I recon its much better then line level converters! Then you get a 4ch Response amp that has RCA out for a sub amp! And you can run your whole system. 4ch for speakers and a 2ch or mono for some doof doof!PS. I did the install in Carlos' Civic and that Response amp cracks Edited 05/01/06 07:32 AM by XtRmn8

Now, I realise you can't just buy the screen on it's own, SODo these guys just buy the BCM's and add there own TFT screens, as seen on ebay and the like, or are they Genuine Ford parts??Has anyone enquired as to whether it's all genuine parts?? $1100 is cheap for what you get, but what are you getting???Cheers.ASL is Ford's repairer of the ICC's. So the parts would be genuine. As far as i'm aware the $1100 is for your existing unit to be modified or a change over basis.Remember your not getting premium sound, your just getting the colour screen added to your current sound setup.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I see...<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I spoke to Fadi this afternoon after a reply to my email, what Adam said is correct they can do either a full ICC change over or just the screen and facia for $1100.00 this is a change over price which they can do inhouse if your in Vic or you can overnight your ICC to them and they send the unit back to you with the upgrade. If your on a first name basis with your local service center you may be able to do it through them.....dont know what the cost would be, or if they would actualy do it though.... Shermanator2 Member 60 Member For: 18y 10m 2d Posted 04/02/06 09:23 PM Share Posted 04/02/06 09:23 PM My first post- Hello eveyone and a pleasure to meet you allIn actual fact I was going to do this last Friday (ASL Logistics Update) but was called in to Work unfortunatly. Currently I have just a standard tft screen and single cd player and am looking at updating to the 6 in dash and premium tft screen upgrade. As far as I can see- it is not premium sound "however" it paves the way to mod the system. I had a VX Calais V6 and traded it in on the BAXR6T and my current sound system is crap compared to the Calais, hence the reason I am looking at this upgrade. The Factory Ford Premium sound has the speaker setup and amps etc added which ASL upgrade doesn't provide and no option too even at a later date. Thier is also tweeters in the drivers and front passenger door corner orrifces. I am currently investigating this to see after I have intially outlayed the money for the ASL TFT/ 6 Indash upgrade too see if I can add these tweeters to the system. Once I have these added the rest should be relatively easy with me adding the amp from ASL to the system at a later date. At this stage the intial ASL TFT/6 indash is an expensive proposition but given the nature of Fords all integrated sound/Air Conditioning system what other choices do we have?By the end of it- It won't be premium sound but it should come at least close to it and at the end of the day it should leave me with at least a pretty decent system at that. Furthermore on the Systems with dual climate control (Ghia I think) model-the TFT starts up with a black backlit screen in my opinion looks a bit nicer. I was shown this last friday and I dont think its an option to have with the intial upgrade. They dont take American Express (Damn!) but take visa- and luckily I didn't go ahead with it as I had a gork at my Visa card that night and thier was not enough to fund the intial outlay. So I am waiting with anticipation till I get the money to do it and rebook the car in.Has anyone else done this yet?? Or am I the first test mule to actually decide on going ahead?? Shermanator2 Member 60 Member For: 18y 10m 2d Posted 08/02/06 06:07 AM Share Posted 08/02/06 06:07 AM Man I managed to get it done today- All I can say is YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAits the best upgrade and it is well worth it. ASL LOGISTICS ROCKS MAN!! I did the TFT and 6 indash upgrade and it really sounds better than the holistic sound coming from the original standard indash unit. One would never guess that it isn't the full blows and whistle Premium Sound. However it doesnt end their- ASL provides us with the means to upgrade it beyond the TFT/ 6 Indash upgrade system and make it just as good if not better than Fords actual premium sound and is well worth it. Go for it guys and you wont be disapointed!! Fadi Your a Legend mate!!
hrb93 Member 84 Member For: 18y 10m 18d Posted 08/02/06 06:43 AM Share Posted 08/02/06 06:43 AM So all they add is the bigger fascia and a Colour TFT?Colour TFT panels in 6.5" are $150 for a good quality Sharp unit. The Fascia is $120 or so.Or is some special unit required to get the additional info onto the display? If it still uses the same connection and just some software upgrade from a dealer. The price seems to be to dear.
