Go the T56!!!! Autos are for lazy people and/or strip junkies!!!! :mexicanwave:

Despite being slower....I mean faster when modded, autos just dont have that tough performance factor.

But hey I'd certainly go auto when I've grown out of the manual fun factor. If your steering towards auto......then the ZF would have to tip you over the line surely. :spoton:

I think the biggest upside (on paper at least) is that the T-56 will hold a sh*tload more torque than the ZF can. THe XR version is only rated to 600nm (which is heaps)but any T with 300rwkw or more is going to be making a hell of a lot more than that, and untill Mal Woods or someone with similar input to transmissions provides an upgrade, a lot of BF owners could be staring down the barrel of a very expensive repair bill, just a guess, but I am willing to be proven wrong

I do not think the ZF will have any problem with 800nm of torque.

I believe the ION 4 speed was rated at 430NM, yet people are putting 600+NM stock and over 800NM with uprated bands and line pressure.

Just because Ford rate the ZF at only 600nm does not mean it cannot handle more. They rate the gearboxes on what their service life will handle. You may get 150,000 on 600nm, 100,000 on 700nm, etc.

As we do not know what these gearboxes will deliver until someone mods their beast and then blows one up.

I personally think they will be very well built and will handle whatever is thrown at them under 800nm
