BTW, who are you dealing with at Carmichael Ford? If you have a choice, talk to Marc Van Domelle in new cars....young & enthusiastic bloke who looked after me really well on last sale.

Feel free to tell him Bryan from Mackay suggested he do his best for you!

Cheers

I chose the 6-speed manual for it's ability to hold huge amounts of torque. Sure, I've had to upgrade to a stage 4 Mal Wood clutch kit, but other than that, the manual shifts great.

I'd be dubious about the 6-speed auto's ability to hold on to 350-400rwkw for prolonged periods of time. However, the A6 does shift wonderful. I test drove a XR6T A6 some 4-6 weeks ago and was really impressed.

Probably a great trans for everyday driving, but not for a highly modded T imo.

Hi guy's, good to see some more NQ boy's on the forum, I noticed there were two 6 speed auto's on the floor at Carmichael ford, on thursday, the black one looked sweet, although that blue one stands out a bit to. should see if they willlet you take them for a spin.(Typhoons)

hahaha yeah, I saw the 2 Typhoons. Both looked very sexy!

As for the 2 tranny's. Well I am a lazy :nono: , however I do want to be able to take anyone on if the opportunity arises. Which it will, considering Townsville is full of "Fast & The Furious" wannabe's.

I'm not looking to add any mod's to it, well not any time soon anyways. Maybe a few years down the track, but then again, I'd probably also just trade it in for an upgrade. I'm not mechanically minded what so ever.

Thanks for your kind words too TOXICT

Just remember everyone is excited about the new 6 speed auto and the tip tronic like I was when I brought an auto but sorry to break it to ya it'll get boring like all auto's! Say in a years time at most you'll hardly use the tip tronic because theres no point its an auto! You know there's nothing like a manual when it comes to performance cars!

Go the auto, too much worry with manuals, especially with diff associated issues!

If you get a good Manual then your lucky, but you can be really unlucky and score a bad one then your happiness may not last for long.

I have driven the six speed auto and would think that there would be little difference in speed between to the two. The autos are always easier to mod to specially now with this higher rated box.

Once you've ridden in an edited (boosted up) XR6T (or F6), and you've beaten a couple of SS's, HSV Clubbies (including LS2 6.0l versions), and you can't wipe the smile off your face, then you will understand all this talk about mod's.

Seriously, once you've experienced the true potential these vehicles are capable of, you'll understand what the talk is about.
