Thanks for your thoughts Brian you certainly make some good points for the nizpro crew. I'll certainly fire one off to nizpro and get there thoughs as well.

I'm going in to this looking for fairly specific outcomes. So I'll look at the different aproachs of the diffrent tunners and see which one would suit me better.

The main thing for me is driving 400 k's to get it done it must be right first time no "drop back in for a quick adjustment" type of thing.

Which ever way I go, if I tell nizpro Brian sent me or HPF that Craig sent me I'm sure I'll get looked after either way.

OK. Good luck whichever way you go.

Oh, and I travel a bit further I.e from Sydney; but then again I'm a bit of a turbo junkie, and have been for 23 years.

I agree with Brian, Nizpro has always done good by me.

Basically if your looking to spend as little money as possible then Nizpro isn't for you.

But in my opinion the extra cash is well worth the experience and after sales service you will recieve.

Cheers,

Adam.

It would appear through these discussions that both Nizpro and HPF are both valid and worthy options in the edit/flash field. I am going to endeavour to contact both next week and see what my options and likely costs will be and take it from there.

A fantastic thing about these forums is that we can rely on ppl who have had honest exposure to these ppl, their product and their reputations, meaning that those (such as me!!) less in the know can hopefully make and informed decision!!!

Thanks to everyone so far, it's been great! Happy New Year to everyone!

Sorry guys, I am a little confused (new to this scene) doesn't the wog have a really good reputation? Why else would people want him to travel all of the country?

Since Craig has responded with his HPF sales push, I will add my opinion for balance.

There’s a lot more to choice of tuner than a couple of drag racing results.

You have to look at capability, customer satisfaction, experience, warranty, commitment and R&D.

With Nizpro you don’t just get a tuner; you get a company that’s been right behind the Ford T upgrade experience from the start.

Nizpro were into tuning Fords well ahead of the rest of the market.

They were the first company to release an Ford T upgrade kit in 2003 (ref http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6007 ).

Nizpro been working on, tuning, rebuilding, racing and designing components for the BA Turbo for almost 3 years, and knows the car intimately. They have recently designed cams and billet oil pumps, and now are developing stronger CV’s at the rear. Upgrades are available from a simple Edit install up a 600rwkw package.

On the Nizpro Stage 1 kit, Edit, injectors, valve springs & custom tune they offer a 12month engine/turbo warranty. Ref http://www.nizpro.com.au/

In terms of the Edit product they started well ahead of everyone in the country, and Edit upgrades are now their specialty.  It takes quite a while to come up to speed with the Edit product, (6 months minimum) and part of the reason why Nizpro have been fixing other tuners less than optimal tunes. Another problem for the tuners is that there is a large variation in the tuning and component state for Ford Ts when stock, so an experienced tuner is likely to get the best result. Also, the tuning and mapping capabilities, plus interdependency of mapping table values, mean the tuner must know what he’s doing.

The majority of tunes for customers are in the 240-280rwkw range, although the most rwkw that Nizpro have taken the Ford T using Edit is 480rwkw with the Stage 4 kit.

Nizpro have a continuing commitment to Ford Turbo R&D with the Edit product.

They have direct access to the U.S software developer.

Before Xmas we decided to dump the Motec on my car, and will be proceeding with the Edit product only. I have some special requirements, and as such new Edit tuning developments will commence early 2006, and Nizpro will continue to stay ahead of the rest of the mob.

Second everything Brian and Adam have said here about Nizpro.

Unlike so many other options out there, Nizpro have a comprehensive understanding of Edit, its tables and their relationships and outcomes,

Nizpro have a fundamental understanding and expertise in forced induction tuning,

Nizpro have a fundamental understanding of Fords and in partcicular the XR6Turbo,

Nizpro understand that to do any job once requires it to be done properly - first time,

Nizpro undertake all component testing and engineering development on their own test articles and not their customers' vehicles,

Nizpro warranty their components and modifications..........as a combination that's what sets them apart from the rest of the pack.
