I had a good night on a private road last night, taught a BA GT a nice lesson or 2 about XR6T's.

Going along a decent stretch of road, I had 4 people in my car, he had 2. Tried to coax him earlier, no luck. But as alot of people typically do, they get the jump on you at the next set of privatised lights (bought them ex-govt and put them on a nice bit of private road). So he had the initial jump, then the T ripped into life and left me and 3 passengers with very excited grins on our faces, and 1 perhaps quite sad GT owner.

Thankyou Ford for the T :)

...switch off the air con...

No need for that - these little babies do it for you.

Great to hear of your adventure, nothing like the look of disapointment when gazing through the rear vision mirror

vik u should realise that not everyone races to win, and "make the other guy run for the hills".. people race for fun, they dont care if the other car is quicker, they want to see how they would go against it.

its not as serious as some of you guys see it..

Hey jetmir I understand it's not all about the win, but this was my 1st and I just had to prove something to myself, if I get whooped from here on, well that's okay, but my 1st time had to be a positive.

I'm up for seeing how other machines will perform and will be throwing out the line lots now.

Nice job spoonage, good to show up just how strong your T is.

I've been thinking about how a GT will perform up against a stock T, is there any point and wondering if the new 6spd will make any difference or will I get munched up? I'll see what I can do...

it sucks, No one ever even looks like challenging me.

Actually, I have noticed since I upgraded my intercooler, everyone looks, but no one wants to play!

Maybe theres something about a Mandarin ute with a big cooler on the front that dumps around 15psi of snarl out the wastegate when I back off approaching the lights that scares them?

Dunno Why?

Only thing I could have done differently would have been to switch off traction control, switch off the air con, remove the spare tire and lastly kick my wife out (not that she is heavy).  I drove my T as hard as I possibly could and had no more to give even if I needed it, so yeah you could say I drove it like I stole it and loved it!

Drove it like you stole it?

Didn't load up to auto, T/C on, 5500 rpm shifts. I would hardly say that's driving it like you stole it.

Once I had 800k's up on mine I considered it fully run in and went into normal driving mode. I have heard a few people say that 80% of the running in happens in the first 100k's.

Don't be afraid to load up the auto or run it through to 6000 rpm. I think the A/C might disengage when you floor the thing anyways so proably no need to worry about turning that off. But yeah the things are not made of glass they love to be worked.

Jet, everyone races to win. They may not think they'll win but they hope they will. No one races hoping to lose.

I never get cars running me on the street. If winning wasn't an issue alot of cars would try to run me. I line up 200sx's, WRX's, HSV's, you name it none of them will run me. When I'm in other cars they'll all have a go. This is because no one wants to lose.

Geea.

Time to take those stickers off and change plates I think Craig.

I don't mind losing.

I enjoyed running up against Dean and yourself because it is the only way to realise just how quick your cars are. It was great to see the speed difference at the end of the 1/4.
