Before I get my edit next year I have installed the John Bowe signature induction and exhaust system, replaced the cat with a 3 inch Stainless Steel 'Metal' cat, new K&N air filter, and got rid of the factory fuel pump and installed a Walbro unit. Stock standard the 2005 manual 'T' registered 206 rwKw, now about 225rwKw, so with an edit I'm looking for about 260rwKw. Ready to go.

Don't want to have to replace the intercooler or clutch or void warranty so 260rwKw should be fine. Be mindful that different dynos give different results.

For starters id be putting a 2nd CAI and a filter .. (K&N is use) and then getting a retune...

250rwkw is an easy figure to get then unless your beast is underpowered from factory...

What was your before dyno rwkw????

Should be 260rwkw especially in a manual. Your exhaust should be good for 260rwkw stock and C&V should know this.

The other issue as well as the actutator leaking (which is very rare at that power, normally around the 300rwkw mark is when you have problems) is your valve springs.

Can you post up your dyno sheet?

Are the valve springs bouncing?

Once again C&V should have told you where they were at.

There are many reasons why you have not got the power you expected, but I am sure there is a simple answer. Not also forgetting that over time the cars we have seen reach their best indication of optimum power levels that the stock engine will put out at around 10-15,000k's so your engine is still pretty tight at 6k.

Don't forget as well what dyno were they using and what shootout mode was it in. Alot of people forget that all dynos read differently, hence they should only be used a a measurement tool for your individual car.

Cheers

today I got my t custom tuned with hi flow injectors and a capa flasher.

I ended up with 226rwkw :spoton:

my car apart from that is completly stock, I was lead to beleive that these upgrades would get me close to 280rwkw.

have I been listening to the wrong people or is my car just lazy?

what upgrades will get me closer to the mark?

any help is appreciated

Agree fully with JB.

Robbo mate it's C&V you should be asking the questions of not the forum.

There are a host of reasons that a figure such as that could come about but no one on the forum can give sound technical advice without access to your car and a fully instrumented dyno.

Get on to C&V and get them to take you through step by step what they did and why and what their recommendations are to rectify your dissatisfaction, which is warranted.....they have been exxtremely dull if they handed the car back to you like that without a full techincal appraisal and explanation.....assuming that you made your requirements/expectations clear in the first place.

The XR6T exhaust is a darn good system and I have seen a correctly set up T (Nizpro) with high flo injectors, new springs and and second CAI with standard exhaust achieve comfortably in excess of 300 at the wheels. There should be absolutely no reason whatsoever to fiddle with the exhaust or springs if you are seeking around 250-260RWKW.

You might also enquire about your boost levels and don't let them just turn up the boost to achieve the numbers, you could achieve your current numbers (if correctly tuned) at or about 7lbs boost.

Keep us appraised as to how you go with them and have a safe driving Xmas regardless of your power!

It's a strange one.

C&V Performance are known to be top operators, I'm sure they can fix the problem for you.
