on my old N/A XR6 I not only managed to scrape the front corners but in an act of stupididty one of the back corners as well :spoton: I was lucky though and it only took paint off from the bottm and you couldn't see it unless you got down on your knees and had a look.

The car was 3 days old when SWMBO drive it to the shops

So just got a can of this stuff and sprayed it,didnt bother filling it with bog,cos she uses it to go shopping, and knowing my luck :msm:  :msm:  :spoton:

vik...good stuff too

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Damn, that wasn't a bad result. That'll keep SWMBO happy (boxed my ears pretty hard when I did it :msm: )

There's a fair colour difference for the car between the two photos - blue to phantom. Was that just the light?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Phantom changes all the time with the light factor, that first happy was taken at night with a flash...

vik...after I finished buarying her in the backyard :msm::msm::msm:

Well, bought some touch up paint from the dealer during the week for the poor front air dam.

I went outside yesterday (Christmas Day) and washed the T in preparation to use the paint... only to find that I don't need the touch up paint any more... I need a panel beater as some ba*tard has gouged the bloody thing with what looks like a soldering iron! (melted dent in the plastic with paint missing and a scrape along the side just in front of the left front wheel). (I'll post pics later)

Problem is, it is impossible to tell where it happened or who to approach about getting it fixed at their expense, as the car was at dealer's for warranty work (LHS engine mount) on Tuesday (inspection and diagnosis) and Friday (replace), and at a specialists tyre place for 4 new ones on Tuesday.

What p!sses me off is that the idiot responsible must have known and seen the damage when they did it, but didn't own up! They have insurance for this sort of thing, right?

This is second bloody time that the car has been damaged when left somewhere. Where's the care and responsibility?

Merry f*ckin' Xmas

Yeah I'd say a slip of a tool... (Been used by a tool) if you'd had simply scrapped it there would have only been one line, not two... My guess is that the perrson slipped the tool dug in bounced off and then dug in again... (Typical careless worker...) problem is that unless you can prove (beyond all doubt) it was done by a certain place \ person (and they will not help you in any shape mannor or form to find this out) then your unfortuantly stuck with the repair bill... How large is the area which they damaged in relation to the rest of the car???

Good news is dropped past the tyre shop and the customer service guy was able to assure us that it wasn't their fault. And after examining the wheel alignment machine I'm inclined to agree with him.

The better news is that our dealer (who replaced the LHS engine mount at about the same time as the tyres were done) had a look and said he'd get the panel beaters to sort it out in the New Year! No admission of liability, but the lack of arguing about it seemed to indicate that he thought it likely it was their fault. I'm happy with the result.

And we'll toss in a bit extra to fix the driveway scrapes I added the week before...
