Hey everyone...

For those that are already watching Top Gear on BBC World, 5th Gear on Lifestyle channel and Rides on Discovery channel, and Ride with Funk Master Flex on Channel V there is a new show just started this week...

It's called 'Unique Whips' and it's on right now 11.30am-12.30pm on the 'How To Channel' on Foxtel Digital. I think this is a repeat from last night though as I think it was on at 8.30pm-9.30pm...

Hope it's good, by the look of it, it's similar to Rides so that can only be a good thing...

Just some more info on this show...

It follows the US workshop Unique Autosport who mod Bentley's, Corvette's and stuff like that, though they are also doing a 60's Lincoln Continental for Marcus Camby of the Denver Nuggets and NBA fame... has a bit of the American Chopper feel too, because there is interviews with the people in it and some conflict between a couple of brothers... :kissmy::nono::fool:

There is no brothers working at Unique Autosports. Like you said they mod high profile cars, mainly for celebrities. They are based in Long Island, NY.

I think the show is now in its second season here. They do some nice work.

Do they show overhaulin' on TV there? They trick the owner of a car (usually classic muscle) into thinking it has been stolen and Chip Foose leads a team to turn it into a work of art. Simply amazing work, Chip Foose is a legend!

Cheers mate... I just quessed they were brothers because of the way they were arguing with each other... and if not brothers at least family of some description...

I've seen Overhaulin' only once and was most impressed by the kind of show it was but have never seen it since. It was on the Discovery Channel the day I saw it.

Is there nothing that Chip Foose can't do? He's brilliant :fool:

Cheers

I think the two you thought about that were fighting is Will Castro (owner of Unique) and Reme, who is the shop manager/master installer. They are very close friends, almost like brothers... Maybe that's why they treat eachother like crap. LOL. Seriously though, Wil is abit of an ars*h*le sometimes. Which is what starts it all.

and Chip Foose, I havent seen anything he cant do yet. Definatly one of (if not the) best at what he does.

That Whips show is just like the pimp my ride except the client pays a hell of a lot of $$$'s.

I thought it was the biggest pile of crap as it was just another demonstration on how much money a NBA / NFL / Rich black man can spend on his audio/visual system.

It seems to be the rage in the USA to be the richest with the most doof doof bling bling one can muster while hanging it all out on TV.

eatV8, I think Overhaul'n in the USA is called RIDES here as they have mentioned that name on Rides a few time. Great show, with real people and real cars. My favorite is still the Kenny Wayne Shephard Xtream Lee (General Lee lookalike).

Chip Foose on the otherhand is a pure genius with not a single bit of bling bling.

He would be the most talented car designer in the world. The things he dreams up is awsome.

Plenty of good car shows on Pay TV. Two men and a garage, Automainac, american hot rod, A car is Born series and speed freaks. The speed week promotion and "who wants to be a race car driver" where great too.
