Got to say also that the Police have let it get to this point it has also by letting these rat bags get away with blue murder,there was an article a couple of months back where a group of guys down at the rocks were insulting the police calling them cops and using racial comments towards them on a current affair and they simply started there car and drove away WTF message does that send out to these people

Enough said I hope the trouble makers are severely dealt with and its over asap and I feel for the descent people who have been caught up in it all

In my view, that is NOT on in Australia.

You can call me a racist if you believe that my opinion is not justified.

I have friends of many different nationalities and religions.

We engage in social banter and debate viewpoints.

In all cases, (with my friends) we share a common goal of doing the best we can for the benefit of our children and our families. Whilst we disagree on some issues, we have agreed that religious fundamentalism can NOT succeed in Australia.

By all means, hold your own values, practice what you like....

but you simply can NOT force your values on others.

If there are aspects of an alternate culture that make practical sense, or offer a benefit to the overall life that we live here in Australia, then it will make its way into mainstream Australian culture.

- Look at the culinary diversity we have in this land now.

We have the best selection of food available from all over the world.

- maybe Muslim Justice could be introduced... works very well at reducing repeat offenders

It is when political agendas are promoted by (quite often) church leaders in ethnic communities that a line is crossed. The church / mosque is very influential, especially in communities which have come from regions with little formal education structure.

I have seen many ethnic communities divided over political and religious agendas.

What it does, is divide a community, and cause unnecessary hardship, (especially in those families which have married between factions).

Instead of preaching the goodwill, and aiding in community welfare, religious leaders have been guilty of dividing communities to the point where many, like myself, have distanced ourselves from our cultural heritage.

In my case, as my children have grown through school, my active participation in school based sport and extra-curricular activities has seen my family embrace and adopt a more "Australian" way of life. Heck, my in-laws who were once stalwart soccer fans, are now the first to get their seats at AAMI stadium on the weekend to watch the CROWS play in AFL matches.

I have NOT forgotten my cultural background though. I have simply assimilated into this land, taken what I consider to be beneficial, rejected that which does NOT suit me, and blended the cultures to make, what I believe to be the best I can do for my family.

Education is a key, but having the right curriculum is paramount!

Without him that company would not exist today, per year the tasmanina economy would loose about 100 million dollars and there would be no targa tasmania

Not all the troublemakers are muslim, these riots are like re-living my school days.

There were 3 groups, majority was lebanese, then the asians then the aussies and some wogs who hung out with them.

The leb's constantly gave the aussies and asians sh*t, this was in a Catholic school. I can remember many fights each week on this, and I reckognise many people that I have seen on TV in the last couple of days.

im not against any religion, colour or ethnicity and I do condemn whats going on in Cronulla, but for some reason I cannot think of any terrorist threats, suicide bombings, kidnappings, torture or beheadings in recent time or otherwise that have been performed by christians??

Or any other religion for that matter apart from Islam- excluding the protestants and catholics as they seem to target each other rather than the entire western world.

Yes I know not all Muslims are like this, in fact thankfully it is only the ignorant neanderthal radical muslims that make up a small percentage of the Islamic population who are stupid enough to think that blowing themselves up will guarantee them a place at the bar with Allah.

I think it would help things immensely if normal Islamic groups would help weed out and turn in potential muslim terrorists in the making - you cannot honestly tell me that they have no idea who they are, im sure at least one person from each of the mosques must have been approached at some point for recruitment or similar??

I think this contributes to the narrow mindedness of some people in assuming that MOST/ALL followers of Islam must harbour hatred against westerners - all we see after a terrorist attack is a few Islamic community leaders making a token condemnation of the actions.

For once I quite happy living in my nice out of the way perth, Nice and peacefull over here. I was talking to friend who is from sydney over the weekend saying how I would like to go back there for another holiday, me thinks I might hold off on those plans for a while. I liked sydney alot when I went for a holiday but now I dont know if I would go back and this is coming from someone who lives in australia I can only imagine what the rest of the world thinks. It is a very sad day for australia.
