When I was younger I used to try so hard to be tolerant and level-headed. People calling for reduced immigration and racial discipline always made me uncomfortable.

As I grow older I am becoming a little more "focused" on our society and it's members.

Now I don't care what colour, race, creed, sexual prefference, etc., you may be ... if you want to enjoy the benefits of the Australian lifestyle, then you must also abide by the written (and un-written) laws that go with that.

I have 0 tolerance for ANYONE who contributes to the reduction of my quality of life in this society.

I'm at a total loss for words!

I'm trying my very best to see this from an unbiased and diplomatic point of view regarding the current ordeals taking place on Sydneys Southern beaches.

BUT, with all the reports and interviews streaming from Cronulla/Sutherland Shire locals who have been tormented and harassed by 'guests' to this area, whatever impartiality is being made sit on the bench.

Now I know that these 'gangs of youths, from a middle eastern ckground' should not paint a picture for the majority of those that ail from such an origin, that do reside Sydneys suburbs.

However, there seems to be little done to educate these youths. What are the parents and senior members of their ethnic community doing about all this urely they cannot be so naive to have an idea as to what 'Little Johhny' or his friends get up to!

I was unaware that this had been occuring for sometime and that the attack on 'volunteer surf lifesavers' was shocking but somewhat expected, especially by the locals.

My blood boils and stomach tightens when I hear of young girls, barely in their

teens, tormented and called 'sluts' as they vacate the surf, all because they

wear a two piece bathing suit.

Continuously, these 'ethnic groups' have plagued the headlines, planned 'terrorist attacks in Sydney and Melbourne', drive by shootings of Police Stations, and now what awaits this Sunday in Cronulla.

I'd usually sympathise with the innocent, decent citizens that represent such an

ethnic group, but instead all I can say is that;

'you brought this on upon yourselves'

As for the years, months, days have passed and not nearly enough has been done on your own behalves.

You can almost set your watch to when these ethnic communities will start to fall back on the pleas of 'racial vilification'.

Since reading in todays 'Daily Telegraph' page 39, an interview with reknown 'Bra Boy' Koby Abberton, mentioning the chance of outside involvement from Bikie Gangs and Bra Boys themselves in support of Cronulla locals.

This Sunday could potentially bring about ongoing and ever worsening instances of clashes between the ethnic minority and riled locals that have put up with this for too long, and should people be injured and blood be shed.

The minority (ethnic) have but themselves to blame.

What is needed is a "bit of a blind eye" turned to allow the Police to sort the issue out with the trouble makers.

The other real problem is the media jackals who thrive on mayhem and disorder for their scoops. This is an issue where freedom of the press is, in my opinion, Not in the interests of society.

And if the police can't stop it, then what option is there, other than vigilante action.

If one of my daughters was harrassed in that way, I'd be there on Sunday throwing the first punch!

Likewise,

For if I had a daughter that was subject to what others have endured, timed perfectly with you punch would be a steel cap to the teeth.

well well well......

What a different view point  people take, when the shoe is on the other foot!

So you are all concered about your "Way of Life" changing.

A few years ago, the Serbs were crucified by the international media for trying to restore their culture back to their own land.

The native Serb Kosovans, were being victimised by the immigrant albanians who had set up in the region and wanted to annexe Kosovo as a "Greater Albania" .

When the Serb Army moved in to restore order, the sh*t hit the fan.

Our so-called "democratic" society allows everyone the right to vote.

That's fine whilst the majority conform to our national identity and lifestyle.

But when a group settles in with vastly different political, religious and social values, it becomes a threat to our Way of Life".

Even more of a problem, is that they populate at a higher rate, without concern about how they will afford to feed, clothe, or educate their kids.  The problem in Kosovo was that the ethnic Albanians typically had >8 kids to a family.

The native Serbs, would have a traditional 2 kids in a family unit.

The net effect, over a generation of this huge imbalance in ethnic births, resulted in a situation where there was a huge swing in the proportion of numbers when it came to voting.  Democracy allows for the majority to rule.

Should we allow the same thing to happen here?

History has shown us quite clearly what can eventuate.

All these bloody "do-gooders"  cause NOT an appreciation of cultures, but allow a system to promote the ultimate demise of our identity.

I have always thought that the only time that war is an acceptable process, is if your very life is threatened.   To that, you can add if the "Way of Life" is threatened.

I am Australian born, but of European descent.  My parents fled the aftermath of the second world war to this fantastic country.

This country has allowed them to thrive in an environment where simple hard work and commitment have allowed the family to grow and prosper in so many more ways than would have been possible back in the old country.

Things have certainly changed in Australia in the last 50 years, but I still rate it as the BEST Damned place to live in... bar none!. We are the envy of people across the world.

What is happening in Cronulla occurs in quite a lot of other places around Australia.

The Government needs to have a really good think about how they deal with it.

The thing that really p!sses me off about our political system, is that the two parties will always try to undermine the other for thier own political agenda, even if there is a good idea, or a real national risk involved.

This is when we need strong leadership.

Political leaders with the ba!ls to stand firm on hard decisions which will NOT be acceptable by all.

But hey, in my opinion, that's what they are paid for.  To represent the people.

So if you have a real concern about your future, and your kids future, and you want to preserve your "Way of Life", then it is so important that you get your viewpoint across to your member of parliament, and his opposition too.

If both major parties are aware that the public wants action, then it will more likely be supported and passed.

One of my gripes is that  as laid back Australians, we tend to be apathetic to politics.  If you maintain this apathy, don't be upset when the sh!t hits the fans and what is happening in Cronulla happens in your own street in the very near future.

I think you miss the point here, I have no problems with people coming over here and wanting to live here, I don't even care if they bring their culture with them...

What I object to is them coming over here and cauing  , what I object to even more is those who where born here but have an ethnic background so they cause :k24t: ...

It your talking about the Aussie way of life, well they can live the way they like to and I'll get on with living with BBQ's on the weekend and going down to the beach to swim, if they stop me doing that (through the threat of violence) then yes I'll worry about the aussie way of life...

I don't think that it's a case of politics at all, give the d*ckheads who are causing these problems more than just a slap on the wrist (and don't tell them that it's not their fault, they didn't know violence was wrong) and really give them something to thing about...

I have noted with a lot of disdain, that there is an increasing problem with all youths. Irrespective of where they are born.

A lot of it comes from boredom.

A lot of it is due to "wanting to make their mark"

There is a lot of frustration and angst about their lot in life.

Youth of today is less likely to offer help, be courteous or show compassion.

They tend to be selfish and un-cooperative, always wanting to know "What's in it for me".

Its sad. Maybe I'm showing my age. Maybe I'm living in a false world of expectation to maintain the qualities of life in my early years.... so that my grand kids can enjoy the wonders of this great country without fear.

If ever there was a time to round up all the bludgers and trouble makers and put them into a national service program, it is now.

Those that won't conform, can be taught to conform.

Just need to give them the right incentive!

As bad as national service was viewed, due to the loss of life in a war we should never have been involved with, it did serve one hell of a purpose in changing boys into men.

I agree...

societys values and instilling of respect is blatantly diminishing,

Youths can make choices when they don't have enough experience and their "legal" rights soar.

and at the same time, teachers and parents rights are on the decrease.... :spoton:
