Yep it's all to do with the computer, and unlike other people on this site who I wont mention, I did not leave it in P and I did not call for Road Side Assistance  :sleepystuff:

Suuurrreee Dave

Seriously, I reckon my car "lost its tune" that night at Calder but all the experts say it cant happen. :k24t:

Mine has lost it as well.... it has only happened the one time, but it has happened.

I wonder how many more this has happened to ?

Yep mine to Dave, :k24t: I find it happends in the mornings more often. If I start the car and put it into drive straight away it does what you have said and engine light goes on. But if I let it warm up a little say 2 mins its never happened.

WTF :hrmm:

Car is booked into HPF on Monday AGAIN!!!

Rob...

Mmmmm, that's a concern :k24t:

And just to add another thing, if im driving down a road and plant my foot down spining the tyres and back off, sometimes it goes into a limp mode :sleepystuff: This again does not happen that often. Its like having the same problem with utes putting big stall converters and going to limp mode due to traction control?

I have a mate with an edited GT that makes 250+rwkw on every dyno I know, but the other day it only made 230.

I think its because the edit runs on Windows based software. We all know how reliable windows is. Just shut it down and re boot is the best answer any tech can give????

This is pretty weird, I was under the assumption that the memory in the PCM is over-written when you edit it. If it returned to the factory map... where did it get it from? I wonder if there is a memory in the PCM which stores a "fail-safe" tune for times when the engine is under too much stress (or a sensor fails...)

Any ideas?

There is fail safe program in the pcm but as to where it is and how it works I am not sure but I do know it is peramently in the pcm.
