so ive been wanting to get a new car for a while now (since I rolled my xf in may) and ive been driving a little hyundai excel around since...

now my old man has a ba xr8 that I drive quite frequently, and nothing beats the v8 soundtrack and the power, I love it.

the car that I have in my head at the moment, is a VS GTS 215i, 6 speed and hopefully with a sunroof...

now in this price range ($25k) the fords to get are mainly AU, some BA's but since dad has one, I want somthing else, and am not alot into au's...

any other V8's (newish) in this pricerange?

I think you'll find some VX SS's about that $25k mark.

That would be much better than a ugly VS GTS in my opinion.

Bloody oath I've seen a few going for below $30k lately!

Who wants an eight when you can have a T??

Stuff the rumble of a V8, when you can have the whistle of a turbo!!!

I just bought an 07/2004 citric acid Mk1 with 20,000klms for $27,300 inc GST fully optioned, leather, side airbags, prem soound, towbar, mudflaps & even roof racks!

So one for $25k is a real possability!

yea thought of that adam, but since my cousins last 3 cars (VT SS LS1, VX SV300 LS1 and my cousins VY Maloo R8 LS1) all have had problems with thier engines, all used quite alot of oil, the sv300 I believed had problems with piston slap, so not keep on an LS1, and buf, ive thought of it, but while im young (20) and got a fair amount of money pouring in, im wanting a good sized v8, that ill eventually be able to make alot of mods to (itll eventually become supercharged, Twin throttle body, more stuff etc... (petrol isnt much of a worry for me)

You could pick up an AUI TE/TS for under 25K quite easily. Great Cars that are brilliantly engineered and will hold their value well.

Stick to the Blue Oval mate!

Lumpy :crybaby:

Do the sums of modding a T and the cost of supercharging a 215 Holden.

BFYB = no brainer , the noise cannot be that important. You will get hosed time and time gain by hell of a lot of cars 4 cylinders included. Not that any form of racing is condoned away from the track

that's also another thing, im not wanting to have it for racing, just a nice cruiser that I know will catch eyes everytime ill drive it (sound of the exaust and the charger turning) I just cant wait for it...

you fool!! :nono::stirthepot: just kidding..

lol, an AU XR8 220 would be a hell of a ride, you'd be surprised. Go check one out. :spoton:

$25k might also get your bum into an EB GT if you can find one too

EDIT: how could I forget to mention.. AU T series! your budget probably wouldn't stretch to a T3, but a T1 or T2 you could find from about $20k+ for a TE50 or TS50.
