You can either take your existing housing into Turbotech or buy a new housing (already modded with stronger actuator) direct from Garrett. If you need any more info on the complete housing from Garrett or want advice on removing turbo/taking to Turbotech just give us a call on 0430 556 380. I've had mine off numerous times trying to get it set right & have finally found the correct combo/settings :spoton:

Dean.

What's the cost for a new housing over moding the original turbo, somebody quoted $465 moded a few posts back and if you buy a new housing doesn't the turbo need to be basically rebuilt?

Not sure on cost of the new housing but I'd assume it's more than $465. As Adrian said, they are much stronger than the standard Ford housing & are less prone to cracking under extreme conditions :spoton:

Just for performance, no track work, I'm shooting for 350wkw and want to be able to stop it, the stock BF XR6T brakes have a hard enough time trying to do this now, once the mods are completed there is no way the brakes will be up to the task.

Brembo would be a great addition but there just to $$$ for an after market conversion, as is the M series PBR 6 & 4 piston kit and as you said it's not a track car.

You said one BA runs ford premium brakes do you mean like the T and the XR8's brakes or the basic Brembo FPV package?

You could have Brembo's for cheaper than your above quotes mate... Just look around on the forum.

DCVIN has a set of 6 piston/4 piston ones for sale that he wants to part with so might be worth talking to him?? 4 piston fronts & standard rears are plenty for the street imo though, you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference between them & anything bigger until you hit the track & repeatedly get on the brakes HARD! The bigger brakes just disperse heat better making them more consistant over a few laps

Got my XR8 bonnet at the panel beaters finalllllly, so I'm driving around with a fresh out-of-the-box XR6 bonnet for a week or so.

So it looks like im trying to go for that "JDM" look, but I'm failing miserably ahahah

Looks like I'll be driving the XF around till the bonnets back :)
