PS the burnout pad traction apparently gets lower the more burnouts are done.  I saw him slide so slowly into the barrier, just locked it up at like 10 km/h.  Was odd to see.  If it gets cold and hard, the rubber surface just isn't grippy like bitumen.  Makes it harder to do smoke shows too I recall the commentator saying since less friction.

I was thinking of summernats where air temp is 40 degrees, track so hot it would burn you, and your shoes rip of cos they stick to the ground. But yes, cold would be greasy.

Ordered new rear rotors and pads. Got to thinking, why are my rear rotors warped? the fronts do all the work... then the penny dropped *lightbulb*. yup. I know why now.

of course not. I drive around with my handbrake on to help improve stability. "skids".... who would suggest such a thing.

was your video of 30PSI2FRY that made me think of it.

Do you put the handbrake on after spirited driving? Apparently that can cause the rears to warp if the discs are still hot. I must be long overdue for new rotors 117,000km not sure if they were changed before me purchasing it or not

nope. I generally try to have a cool down, as all components need time to cool.

But on that, it is suggested in drivers briefings when you do nights at Barbs that you dont apply your hand brake between runs, due to cracking/warping/welding pads to disc's.

Nope. Don't have my cams licence. The missus takes her 86. Waaaaay better on a track compared to my boat.

Does anyone have a guard roller, and has anyone used it successfully. Eg, without cracking paint or marking the outside of the guard?
