Any half decent shop should be able to do it Mick it's not particularly technical or difficult. What flex plate will you go for?

Not sure, any advise?

Rang House of Power $500 to take box out check it over, plus cost to replace bolts with ARP studs, re torque em and lock tight em in.

Alfredcove Autos is getting back to me with price as well. Said he did an upgraded one two years ago and gave me a rough ball park of $800.

Have heard from this forum and other members this is common as Steve Stated above.

House Of Power said 'no, your box must have been out for repair, and bolts not torqued properly'.

Alfredcove Autos said 'haven't seen it, but doesn't mean it's not a common problem'.

Makes me think should I flat bed it MT/XFT how are aware of the issue.

I dropped mine off at Titan ford on leach hwy and simon sent a nizpro flex plate down there for me, this was 9 years ago though.

As you might have read already I done my Flex plate last night at Motorplex.

Yep that sucks.....how many runs did you get in before it died?

How did you break it....is it from stalling up off the line?

And dumb noob question but where is the flex plate located? Is it inside the trans?

So how do they die? Too much power and just bad luck? Or NFI?

At $500 there's no point trying to build box at the same time hey....

Edit: Just watching the intune video of their flexplate and can see the box is still in the car....so not as big of a job as I was thinking lol

Its the reason I wont go down the drags, untill I grab the funds and the enthusiasm to build the box. On 415/470 id mince it quick smart.. When it happened on the BF it was from stalling it up for a burnout, the stocko flexy doesnt likey.

So Az yours went from stalling it up? Or from doing the burnout itself?

How high were the revs do you recall?

Makes me think I shouldn't be doing burnouts lol (not that I've actually done a proper one before)

I'm running the beefed a up Nizpro plate. Perfectly adequate IMHO around $220 delivered with new ARP bolts from memory. Problem is common as big toes. As I mentioned before not a difficult job (3hrs labour max on a hoist) Nizpro are very specific about how the plate is installed so if the bloke doing the work follows the directions you won't have and issue.

PTR the stock plates are relatively soft and once you start screwing decent power/torque into them the elongate the bolt holes for the crankshaft bolts and voila rattle rattle.

Mick it goes without saying but don't drive it.
