How is your beastie going hiddeous? Haven't seen ya round in the ute for ages!

Yeah the utes good. Havent driven it for about 4 weeks. Its become the weekend toy. I've gone back to my 4wding roots, but i still love to get the ute out and head out for a play.

Im trying to source a supercharger for my rangie's 4.6ltr V8 but the search isnt going to well.

What about you car Brendan? Happy with the clutch?

cheer

Luke

Yeah youngy's is 400+ and drives smooth as! A lot of guys will vouch for how nice they are to drive even with high power.....not like the old v8 carby days with lumpy cams!

Mate just bought a quad cam 4.5 L twin turbo V8 S13 Silvia........yep an S13!!!!

Haaa doesn't it scull enough juice already!! Should be pretty eratic with a blower and a lot of fun off road!!! Youngy just got a new turbo diesel ranger so, like you, has the ute for weekend play. The ranger goes surprisingly well on road for a diesel!!

Yeah cars going good, clutch is nice, just getting to used to having 270 and want more lol. Cars can drain the wallet so I'm trying to be sensible with money at the moment!!!

Tell me about...im trying to prioritise carpet and curtains over blowers and bigger fuel pumps. I'l put the rangine on Injected lpg if its gets boost. It already hovers around 20ltr per 100ks. It would be ridiculous with a blower on PULP. I have also thought about fitting a turbo off a T to the rangie but it would be alot more involved than dropping a little Eaton M90 on it. Im not chasing big HP thats whats the utes for. I would like it too pick up some bottom end torque tho.

Did youngy go for a automatic or manual? Auto turbo D's are surprissingly good in the sand,

Haaaaa capet and curtains are under rated if you don't have them!!!!!

More torque to spin some 35" mudders hey!!! His ranger is a manual, not sure what they weigh but it would flog a 3.0L TD patrol I reckon. He ran it in by taking it off road and doing jumps.... he loves it lol.

Thanks for that Toads. I've gone down to see Simon twice this week but he hasn't been there so I've called him the last 2 days and he wasn't there also......

Anyway he is the man to see about the T's from what I have heard. His offsider, cant remember his name, told me about the system that Simon has, but I didn't really want to spend the 1700 spendoolies on a cat and dump that he quoted me!!! That's why I'm asking if there is a cheaper option going around or what other people have.

He also said that by going the exchange injector system that they use is better than going for the Siemens 60 pounders. Cost is about 700 clams. I know alot of people on here have gone to Simon's and is the option they have chosen?

So the plan is for a stage 1 PW cooler, Capa box with custom tune and injectors...... already have the 2cai and k&n filter. Would I be far off in thinking that with a stock exhaust that around 270rwkw is achievable???

Cheers for the advice people.....

Have you considered the process west stage 2 as this will allow you to fit a plenum later. I have the nizpro drilled injectors and the car runs and idles perfect. If you go for the 4 inch dump pipe , it makes it easier because it bolts straight up to the cat which is a 5 inch body 4inch inlet and outlet. Is your car a bf 2 because if it is a BA you need to rethink your mods. Arron

Yeah I looked at the process west stage 2, but where do you stop? This has all started from a large stone chip which needed the front bumper to come off to be painted. Then I thought, well if the bumper has to come off I might aswell change the cooler, then if I change the cooler I have to get a tune, then if I get a tune I might aswell get some injectors, if I get injectors, cooler and a tune do I need a cat and dump and I haven't even asked the question about a fuel pump yet! Would someone please tell me if this story ever ends.....

I have a BF, May build 2006 , so I don't even know if it has the same internals as the Phoons as nobody has been able to give me a definite answer as to yes or no about the internals, as it's on the cusp of when they changed them apparently.

Hmmm why is life so difficult... Thanks for the advice though.

Cant wait to see Simons face when he finds out im serious about this 400rwkw thing, and yeha its driveable, just not with nankangs 245's on the back like a currently have.

With the way I drive my car the stronger internals will more then likely be the go, but we'll have to wait and see.

Dont think my parents will be too happy..

My car is no longer my daily as the company VY has taken its place.. thanks Dad loll
