I got my optimate6 from the bike doctor, north Perth. They come with a waterproof quick connect so they're great for guys with hidden batteries (plazmaman / process west).

My iPad charger is 2.4 amps!

Hey peeps...how long do shocks stay "good" for?

Talkin bilsteins here....would 50,000kms mean they are starting to go bad? I had a set of coilovers once with 30,000kms and felt pretty good so hoping at 50k they still have some life in them?

Also what is the cost to get them revalved or whatever its called? This would mean they are "like new"? Would this be less than new price I.e. less than $1000-$1100

Cheers for any info! :)

^^^^^ Anybody????

I think I read on a bilstein FAQ page that their shocks have a different design in construction when compared to other brands of shocks I.e. piston only; and therefore there are no parts that can wear out prematurely?

And that's why there is apparently a 'limited lifetime warranty' ? I'm not sure how true that is and whether they are stating their shocks would be fine for like 500,000kms without rebuilds? Or perhaps you get 'free rebuilds' if you are the original purchaser? - Can't remember if it was a Bilstein Australia page or Bilstein International page or perhaps I read it wrong lol

Also apparently the original purchaser had them rebuilt in 2012 at a cost of $990 Fronts and $880 Rears....so could that imply that they have been revalved for track work? Cause the seller rekons "took my mate for a drive and he has XYZ super street coilovers with ultra low 14kg/9kg springs and he rekons mines either the same or a little firmer than his" and that "it is quite bumpy when you're driving around normally but it feels cool cause you bounce around like your on bump stops"....that second part sounds weird/ hopefully isn't too annoying for a daily driver :P

any opinions or should I start a thread in suspension area???

taaaaaaanks!

Sweet as! Thanks Wiggum :)

I might give them a call later and find out how expensive this service will be....

It just sucks cause I doubt the guy selling them will let me 'test them' first; so its going to be a bit of a gamble....here's hoping lol

I'm sure I can probably get another 50,000kms use out of them (even though some people believe shocks last 30,000kms and others will happily use theirs until 120,000kms+ mark)...even my stock setup at 110,000kms doesn't feel too bad...so I will see how I go...

It's just BS cause I think I read somewhere that getting them 'rebuilt' to original spec is pointless; cause you can buy a new set for the same price or something?
