Do you want power or the v8 rumble?

The 6T will make FAR more power and if modded correctly shouldnt even see 300rwhp.

They look fairly similar bar the obvious.

XR8's in theory should be cheaper as every ford dealer I've spoken to has said they dont sell as many as the XR6T's. I can see many people getting scared off big capacity engines when fuel hits $1.50 a litre :) Ideal scenario for buyers!

You are both refering to horsepower??

My XR6T with just a tune is 248rwkw or about 335 rwHP.

My Boss 290 with bolt ons, exhaust and tune etc is about 390rwHP.

"hits"? I paid that last week. My jaw almost hit the ground. :brightidea:

Yeh, well late last week I filled up at $1.47 and tonight I filled up again at $1.44.. 15.5l/100kms (normal driving) sucks! Dealer reckons it should be around 11.5-12/100km LOL

When I first bought my wrx four years ago I can remember everyone whinging that BP98 was going to go over $1.00...

mate, I nanna mine around town and struggle to better 15.5l/100km. I havent even seen less than 14/100km on country runs. its almost to the point it might be worth modding just incase I get better economy?!

lads, I've been trying to convince the missus that a tune is not only for more power but for exactly the same reason (occasionally I'll go for a drive to mandurah or even just to freo or mindarie just to see the range-o-meter look healthy!). might be time to actually show her the honest figures eh?

anyone had decent economy jumps from tunes?

I get exactly the same economy, tune or stock.

it is probably a little thirstier around town, but makes up for it on the highway.

around town I doubt you would see any benifit from a tune wrt fuel economy.

BTW if dans swmbo is reading, that above was a lie. a tune will actually make it more economic than LPG!!!!!!!

I had huge savings in fuel after my tune but that's if you can stand driving like a nana.

Since when you do drive like a nana?? :spoton:

yeah, not really a nanna myself.

has anyone used BPT in wangara for tuning before? was thinking of getting one of C&V's boxes and getting a custom tune to go with it. or is it just no worth doing if you can't go a custom from XFT?

what do you guys pay for just getting it on the dyno for a custom tune there?

thanks dudes, I know it's a big covered subject, but I'm on a serious budget.

Dan
