how you find the 400d? you guys have a pretty good deal atm with the 2 lenses right?

I have the 400d. It is a pretty sweet camera if you know what you are doing. For people who want a simple point and click I think is is a bit of a overkill like my misses, she want a camera where she can just point at target x and click and be done not have to swap lenses and change settings and so on. But for some one who is going to use all the features, for the cost you cant beat it!

here is one I took the other day with some minor photoshoping :spoton:

yeh I agree mate, bloody good camera for the price they are now, although dont pick up the 40D, coz after that the 400 is just a toy.

also agree with the missus statement, mine's getting more used to it now, but never wants to swap the lenses, take the tripod, use the remote or even take it off the full-auto, heh.

but yeh, for a really good starting point it's definately the way to go, 10mp, 18-55 + 75-300, 3 frames/sec, great value.

if you wanna play with one or a price, pop into the shop or PM me

Dan

yep I made that mistake.. loved the 400D but only felt right in my hands with the batt grip, was still a bit non-ergonomic .

then I tried the 40D and it fit like a cheerleader on prom night.. pity its a lot more $$$$... best ive seen it with 17-85 IS USM lens is around the $1700 mark..

I'll prolly end up with the 40d, Nikon D80 or Olympus E-510... the Oly is nowhere near as popular but is still a fantastic camera and for around $1k with the twin lens kit is a bargain

hey mat, not at the shop today, but I'll have a look tomorrow and let ya know

Dan

PS which DSLR you got? I've got the 400d and it seems to go ok with the standard speed cards, but having said that I've never tried the faster ones

Fantastic!

I have the 350D (in hingsight I should have waited an extra two months for the 400D). I used to have canon SLR's and they've always been brilliant.

I bought the twin lens kit and if I had my time again I would have bought the body only as I upgraded the len's anyway after 6months. We compared the standard lens to the Tamron I bought (which I found better than the Canon 17-85 IS and the Sigmas- Nowhere near as good as an L series though :() and the results were incredible. BFYB you probably wont get any better (unless your a Nikon Person!).

40D and above are seriously sexy. Maybe when I win lotto!!

A few of the PerthWRX boys are starting to get serious with their 350/400D's and the results have been unreal! I had some great photo's that were lost when my PC died a few months back. Now im waiting until the taxi gets modded after xmas and I'll get a proper decent / reliable with a 24" LCD.

Congrats on the engagement Hiddeous! Where and how did u propose?
