Might be time to make a big call on the car vs house thing man :( Unless you can find a cheapish way to get back to where you were, any idea what you're looking at already?

While I was down at XFT hearing about the aquatic adventures of the Grug mobile and lamenting my low power and stock rims (John's getting an even bigger blower put on, too many SC V8's around now!), I grabbed a couple pics of the new 19" Ford USA rims Simon has thrown on the F6:

Rear fitment was pleasing to the eye... ten inch rears should do that though! 9 inch fronts as well.

I suggested to Chippa he get them as they are a lazy 2 grand and look sharp but he's sensible and looking at 18's :P

Sorry Steve, I cant help winding you up. Iam only joking you know. I wont mention it again.

Simons new wheels, not my cup of tea but need to see them in the flesh.

Talking about wheels , Steve when are you going to get rid of those crap stock wheels and get something descent. HA HA HA HA

You don't stay quiet for long!! hahaha. The rims are good hey, my style, not too wild. Simon reckons they look stock enough you wouldn't get popo attention but I think he's too used to aftermarket rims ;)

Simon threw a great offer at me for some rims but I simply cannot put cash onto bling. Suspension needs work BADLY, car is 130 thou old now and on stock system. Bushes are scheduled finally at least (thanks Luke). I don't even have WINDOW TINT man :'( Also need surge tank, that's high on my list. Nicer rims don't make it go faster (unless I get ultra light ones but I don't do track work...) and the tyres cost more to replace, making further safety mods take longer. You don't know the joy of 500km a week on a B series you girly man! :stirthepot:

Good thing those Vertini's took forever and you never let me buy the Phoon 19's, you'd be bored on here :P

Grug check this out

rebuild if the block and bores are okay, otherwise buy a new block, and new pistons, rods, brgs, and wack it all together. I blew my motor and put a new fg f6 short motor in it... I forever REGRETTED that move, and wish I had used the crank and put atomic pistons and rods through it. At least that way you will have peice of mind.

I was forever second guessing my tune, any noises by not putting good gear in it and just an fg f6 short motor. For the sake of an extra $500 to $1500 I destroyed any joy I had of driving the car, so much so that I sold it and bought a turbo territory. Hope this helps.

Chippa I have a blonde mullet wig you can borrow dude, and a friend with a flanno shirt. I also have GT 12 slotters laying around from my XF days!!! I'm your go to man.

Bad luck Gruggles :(

Don't rush into anything though. Work out exactly what you want from the cat and just buy a bunky if needed!

Basically I've got a few options open to me:

1. Insurance plays ball and covers a new engine. Simon got the car running, so will be driving it down to the assessment center tomorrow with Simon's recommendations in a letter.

2. Insurance doesn't play ball, return car to stock, trade in and buy new car.

I think te rule is frug if modifications cause the problem and the insurance company doesn't know you have them or they arnt on the insurance aswell, it isn't covered. Only saying cause aami have always insurad every mod I have done with any of my cars.

I like the trade in option... Just feel sorry for the new person who buys it :/ then again they have warranty.
