Brendan Get a C-Tek changer for it! IMHO Odessys are pus and the PC925 is far too small for out cars!

Chippa Def staggered, get some decent rubber under the back end and it will transform the car!

What are these battery chargers worth Luke? I'm assuming an auto spark/battery world/supercrap sort of stores would stock them?

f*ck Aaronm, that's 100 less clams per tyre than I was quoted. There wasn't a wristy or anything offered by you was there? :stirthepot:

Around $180 mate. Whitworths marine has the best selection I've seen. You need to smash a decent charge into them first as the car and C-tek will only maintain the float charge(the last 25/30%) in a PC925. I have a big mutha charger if you want to boost it up first

Yeah Basically Chippa, C-Tek are a little smarter as the monitor the battery charge level and cycle the current to improve cell saturation (the amount of sparks you can cram in) and reduce sulfidation (build up in the cells that reduce the amount of sparks you can cram in it!)

PC925's need around 20 amps for at least 1 1/2hr's to completely recharge the battery from a flat state (flat is less than 9volts) Our cars struggle to pump those sort of amps into the battery due to the current demands from the car.

In a nutshell if you never flatten a PC925 the car will keep it topped up (voltage will be 12.8/12.9) but capacity will be around 25/30% of new full charged battery (meaning it will cranks flat pretty quick)

If you have flatten it the car will struggle to maintain the float charge (25/30% of actual capacity) even if you leave it to charge overnight or longer on a 10 or 15 amp charger.

If you want to test this out hold the accel flat and crank the car, it wont start but will flatten a PC925 in around 20secs, not good when you consider its cranking a low comp 6cyl!.

The biggest misconception around odessy batteries is that they dont go flat like a normal battery, they do, they just recover better than a lead acid (normal) battery.

/end battery rant, Just pissed me orf cause I spent $500 in oddesy batteries and they both died very quickly. Im sure Niapoo picked them on a "it'l fit in the space we have we'll use that one" Basis.

Im now using an Optima D51R which took a bit of effort to fit and was worth it!

Yeah I've noticed my Odessy one can go flat if I don't drive the car for a week or so. If I do the foot to the floor on starting trick (to try build up some oil pressure) it can go flat very fast and I have to get the charger on it for 10 mins.

your hanging out in float charge land Mikey!

Do you have a multimeter? If you can measure current with it you'l find the car is slurping down 200milli amps with nothing on (Security system, Keep alive voltage for PCM etc etc)

200 milliamps constant draw fill flatten a FULLY charged PC925 in about 300hr (just under 2 weeks) and a partially discharged battery in less than 7 days

That's some good info to know about batteries Luke. Looks like I'll be buying myself one battery charger very soon.

And :finger: to you on the rims Chippa! I will be looking forward to seeing them in person.
