I think Adrian was using said emoticon to rustle some feathers, nothing mallace there. Someone needs to have their knickers taken out of a bunch :roflmbo:

With the revised cats, are they not upto scratch in high power applications like you told Rob? You'd think being such a large bodied cat with low cpi count it would flow well?? Can you shed any light on why your design may/may not have excluded these high power apps please. Not trying to start a sh*t fight but just want to have that cleared up seeing as yourself & Nick would be the best guys to speak to about it... My relatively low power level seems to be fine with the 5" cat & we haven't come across an exhaust restriction, more so a turbo restriction.

To Buf-Phoon... :idunno:

Hi Dean, the cats like what you would have, have a big pin through the centre, they core shouldnt give you any grief now that we have had them pinned. Im waiting for SMB to get back to me regarding a new setup I enquiured about some time ago as we found yet a better cat again. On My FG F6 when it was making 340 rwkw's we tested the new cat and it made 360 rwkw's. I flow tested it and it flowed over 1000 cfm @ 20.4 inches. The SMB one flows 780 odd cfm. we havent sold these new ones yet till its proven itself reliability wise, its on my car atm and so far its been prefect.

As for the knickers, I dont have mine in a bunch, Ive just heard alot of stories floating around that seem to lead to the same sources and in my eyes it was time that BS was put to bed and the facts regardless if people didnt want to hear them or not where told truthfully. That now being done stops all the crap.

I not only paid SMB for the 2 sets of mufflers and bends and then paid APC for the 2 prototype exhausts to be done, then the freight back to SMB (for jigging )so that the 4 inch system that you and others get to enjoy at a pretty good competative price. I didnt feel the need to tell people of this up until now. Myself and Nick didnt need to be blowing our own trumpets about it, seeing cars use them for the last 4 odd years knowing we had instigated it and made it happen was enough for us.

Imagine how frustrated you would feel to hear people saying that it wasnt us that had done it from the start when you had put a fair whack of cash and time into doing it. Seeing cars like yours that perform well with 2 products that we either sell or helped make is what makes me smile.

Cool thanks.

Is it a full bolt in design as I have seen some with the cats welded in? I thought the cats were provided as a bolt in unit.

Cheers

Adrian

I love the SMB products I have used on both of my cars & I think it's quite clear throughout this forum as I have recommended them countless times. Kudos to you for having a hand in the design.

The one thing that struck me as odd when the whole 'who designed what' thing came up, is why yours & SMB's design differs. I would have never picked it on my BA as I knew no different but now that I have had a syatem direct I can tell. The reducer on my BA (and many other Xtreme cars) is not what SMB offer in their $1700 dump/cat package. It was more of a 4" piece of pipe that's been smashed/creased to fit the 2 standard pipes. Any light shed on this would be great

Thanks :roflmbo:

Like I said im on one of their caps and to be honest, I've never had a problem. If I get offered better plan etc I'll happily change but!

Google phone (HTC Dream?) looks interesting but I cant stand slide phones anymore. Apparently Apple are bringing out a new phone towards the middle of the year, could be worth keeping an eye out but if anyones got any suggestions..

x-farce exhausts FTL. On certain black wrxs, anyway!

Mat a mate of mine just got the new Blakberry touch phone thingo very much like the ipod but better appahrently he is an IT guru and a big apple fan so it must be pretty ggod if he is talking it up not sure of the model number or anything but I can find out if you like

Phones are sh*thouse. Been through countless 'high end' units in the past 12 months & I'm considering going back to the old 3315 with analogue screen :idunno:

My N95 is about half a screen freeze from being ran over by the Phoon... All other phones have had a dismal ending as well :roflmbo:
