Guest Guests Posted 13/02/09 12:07 AM Share Posted 13/02/09 12:07 AM G'day mate, picked up my car today with the tune at just over 340rwkw. The zorst is the problem as it's still stock after the cat. The car feels alot smoother and responsive and the induction noise I'm wrapped with. Obviously the zorst is the next step and with the gear I have, Simon thinks I should get some bigger numbers. It's running at about 15 boost where as before was at about 13.I think I've pretty much got the stage 2 kit, nizpro plenum, cooler, air box/battery relocation, piping, injectors, cat/dump etc, but I already had some of that gear on my car. Probably should of got the zorst done then and there at the same time, but hey, you can only hide so much coin from the misses right?Looking to head done to the drags later in the year, hopefully with the new exhaust. If only the bloody libs would pass K. Rudd's bonus on!If I'm not on call, I'll probably catch up with a few of you next week at the cruise.Cheers BrendanGood work mate Did Simon drop the exhaust while on the dyno to confirm that it was actually a restriction? As Adrian said, with a blocked cat & stock cat I still managed really good power/torque on lowish boost so just trying to work it out.Have you got a graph with Power v Torque as well as a Power v AFR??Cheers, Dean Yeah Simon was a little bit surprised that it only made just over 340 at the wheels. He said he could wind it up more, but then I'd be losing some safety with it. Although I'd obviously would like more power, reliability is what I need. So hopefully when I get the zorst sorted, some bigger numbers will be pumped in. Money money money, that's all I need!I ran a 11.8 @ 120 mph with my stockies, before I done this lot of mods. I only had 328 at the wheels, with just injectors, pw cooler, dump and cat, f6 air intake and 13 boost. So hopefully when all this is sorted, I will be getting deeper into the 11's. The car drives really well, although I haven't done many k's with the new setup. This weekend I will head out for a spin somewhere. I take it that Simon is doing your Nizpro mods? You'll love the difference. anyway, catch up with you laterCheers Brendan11.8 @ 120 is an awesome effort & I'm keen to see what it'll do now. Adding the plenum & Nizpro cooler/intake would of given you heaps more in the midrange so times should be substantially faster & mph will be up I believe Monsta Torque is carrying out Adrian's Nizpro kit & SMB exhaust setup as per my car. Will be good to have 3 similar setups for comparison at the drags & cruises later in the year...Guys and girls, anyone been to Cirque Du Soleil since it opened in Perth?Overated hype or worth the money (pretty pricey for a circus!!)?I went last year & it was awesome! Definitely worth going if you haven't been beforewhats the difference in low/mid range kw/torque since you fitted the Nizpro kit? My ute made 333rwkw(18psi) pre nizpro and 340rwkw(14psi) post Nizpro kit. Used 4 psi less boost to make the 340rwkw. The difference across the whole range is what really makes the nizzer bits stand out.Got a set of squirters and a new fuel pump from Ang for my b/day if I get my shiit together I should have them in and a retune before the next cruise... Low/midrange will definitely be 'fattened' up but you'd think with the addition of plenum/more efficient cooler & intake that top end would also increase on a significant boost increase??What injectors & pump are you running atm Luke? Thought the Nizzer 72lb'ers would of gone in with your kit along with a walbro pump?Oh yea, you have to actually make an appearance on a cruise to show off your new found power. (cooler, plenum and pipe work basically) I'm running some mystery injectors that i picked up 2nd hand from a guy on ff.com.au 4 years ago. Fuel pump is stock......I have Deka's to go in.Im not planning on having anymore teeth yanked anytime soon mate! I'm sure Simon will be along to add some detail to xr6t ego's tune. I think the key word here is safely tuned. It probably would have been easy to turn it up more without fixing the underlying issues but i know personally that Simon doesn't like sending out hand grenade tunes.... Yea I know that, I've had my car held back at XFT for safety issues which was a good thing. Just sounds odd that the standard cat back is restricting power is all, & this isn't a pissing competition between myself & Brendan or Monsta Torque & XFT. Felt a bit smoother BUT slower than usual but I told myself it was just paranoid after reading all the other anti dealer service threads hahaha...Finally decide today to have a squiz under the bonnet, start checking for loose turbo bolts, move to the x-over and check all connections are tight...then notice a F****ING snapped off Positive Crankcase Ventilation pipe connection (cheers maintenance thread for helping me name it lol). Now I'm not a mechanic but I suspect this is important Guess I should have trusted my bum-o-meter earlier. Maybe it popped when they brought the avg fuel use up to 18 from 14 during the work Now a question: I assume this is a culprit for loss of power because of the hotter air mix being fed in? Or is there a more advanced reason? Could there be anything ELSE wrong with my baby? Anyway off to the dealer now to have a vent and get it fixed. Thanks in advance everyone. Guest Guests Posted 13/02/09 03:52 AM Share Posted 13/02/09 03:52 AM Clean your engine bay ya slack *beep* Not sure if that will be related to power loss as it's a breather for the crankcase. Could be sending weird signals to the ecu though??
