I was in europe from July 29th to Sep 17th this year. I have the same views on it as you Matt. I was in rome for 7 days. So much to see. I too did not like Berlin as much Munich. Also wnet to switzerland (a must do), croatia (best time ever), Prague, Amsteram, London, Belgium and france (very nice and clean with plenty of sights).

You will have no matter what. Just when in Rome it is hard to find really good resteraunts which aren't all touristy. They are there but require you to find them.

Have fun

Adrian

Thanks for your opinions guys, muchly appreciated. I'm looking at goin at the very end of this year into early next year. Everyone seems to love Croatia, so will have to make a stop there, and Amsterdam to see what all the fuss is about hehe. Will miss out on Oktoberfest sadly.

cheers guys :bye:

Chubbz...

Your not going during a weather friendly season lol.

Earlier this year I went to Barcelona, Ibiza, Mykonos, Santorini, Venice, Rome, Paris, Amsterdam and London.

I would def recommend Barcelona - Great place, very cultural and mysterious somehow. Also a lot to see and are really beautiful people.

Ibiza & the greek isles are out & out carnage but due to the season its going to be very quiet so Im not sure id recommend them.

As the others have said, Rome is fantastic. Love the history, amazing if you can get your head around how old it is & history behind it. Venice was pretty cool too.

Paris - I really wasnt looking forward to going there due to my perceptions from the opinions of others that have been there but it really suprised me. Clean, friendly and generally a lot to do. Also pretty rich for history. Louvre is amazing and if I had my time again id go over a couple of days to take it all in. Amsterdam, well... Dont book too long coz its pretty easy just to blend in and lose yourself and before ya know it you will have 'wasted' valuable travelling time (gotta try mushies though, best day of my life!!). Im from London so iv seen it all before but obviously plenty to do and see... Has a very rich culture and history if you can find it throughout all the multiculturalism. Good shopping too but the weather is gonna turn you off around that time of year.

If I could speak French or Spanish I honestly think I could live in either Paris or Barcelona. If I had my time again, id probably see a little more of Spain & would def hit the French Riviera. Id like to go to the Swiss alps, possibly Germany and maybe Prague or something like that.

Im not sure how nice Croatia would be in winter - Iv heard it to be wild for partying, but might be a bit cold. I dunno!

Your gonna have fun wherever you go, just make sure you try all the local foods and do all the fun stuff. Touristy things are cool but theres also a lot to do outside of the 'tourist realm' if you like...

Hey people. Can someone post a new topic about this.... (I can not seem to do it)

For a good cause

Anyone really is welcolme so we can get more toys. Just have to be a member of AFF to be in the Show and Shine.

2008 AFF National Christmas Toy Cruise, will be held in every State on sunday December 7th (except N.S.W., DTA).

Its time for a Christmas cruise. We would like every car to bring a new toy as a present, this will be forwarded to the Salvation Army and they will distribute these toys to kids that don’t have a toys for Christmas. No need to wrap the toys as they will be distributed by the Salvo’s in appropriate age groups. Here is your chance to do something for those less fortunate, so why not put a smile on a kids face for Christmas, at the same time you can enjoy a good social day with all your Forum Buddy’s, bring a BBQ* or have Picnic. (*Will confirm if BBQ's are allowed..) We do not have a food permit yet but I am working on that so the Salvo's can maybe sell hot dogs or the like.

We will be holding a show and shine for every car on the cruise, it’s a gold coin donation all money raised will be given to the Salvation Army.

Show & Shine trophies for:

Best exterior, best interior, best under bonnet, best over all.

The cruise details.

This cruise will consist of 3 main groups to start off.

All groups to meet at 10am and be ready for a 10.30am departure

Northern Group meet at Westfield's Whitfords City in the car park near corner of Whitfords Ave and Marmion st.

Eastern Group meet at Midland Gate Shopping Centre in the car park off Loyd st.

Southern Group meet at the Rhino Car wash on Hurrell way Rockingham. Corner of Ennis Ave and Dixon rd.

Volunteers

Volunteers are required to head up the 3 groups and help plan the actual cruise routes.

The Final destination is 1pm at Tompkins Park in Alfred Cove (Melville).

This is a big flat Grassed area, so it's suitable for low cars too. And we have Perth city in the background for some great photo opportunity's.

We will be planning to meet at Tompkins Park at around 1pm. Hopefully all groups can meet up and cruise to the final location as one.

that's the basics of this event. We still need to plan the drive for the 3 groups and find an official Photographer and a few volunteers to assist with the show and shine etc. We will have traffic management in place also, so please follow instructions on access and parking when at Tompkins Park. (I have personally gauranteed the grass will not be ripped up and will have to pay for any damage)

We are also looking for more Toy sponsors. Any money donated will go to buying toys for children from a toy wholesaler.
