New laws are coming in on the first of July and its gonna make owning a performance car a whole lot harder. Police presence in the hills every weekend rules hills cruises out so you have the targa areas past Toodyay or down towards Dwellingup dams areas. No police / public out there but the majority of car enthusiasts would see that as too much effort!

Hoon laws are going to increase. IE if your a hoon law virgin, instead of getting the car impounded for 48hrs, it will now be a week. Goes on from there. Keep in mind you have to pay for storage so the longer its in the compound, the more it costs to get it out. Clever isnt it!

Feebs is a perfect example of how this could go pear shaped. Imagine if they seized her car for what her BF did. She'd be out of a car for a week. Perths public transport system isn't that great so imagine trying to get to work / important appointments etc

Of course the fines / points will increase to. The gumbyment KNOW there's money in Perth so why not grab some more of it. Hot the motorists in the hip pocket and a nice warm and fuzzy media campaign so joe public (the voters!) think they are making the streets safer.

About time we get rid of people like Grant Dorrington and start looking at the REAL problems on our roads.

That said, seatbelt fines will increase heavily AFAIK. My 21 year old best mate was killed in a car that had an accident at 60kms. Everyone else in the car walked away fine but he wasnt wearing a seatbelt..

Next time you see kids jumping around the back of a car clearly not wearing a belt, record it on your phone and hand it in the the cops and make them do something about it!

D congrats on the car but u really dont want black hahaha

Spend hours washing them and 2min later your hard work is wasted! Still when they are clean they look mickey mouse!!

unfortunately without the invention of Idiotic Driving Cameras, Drink Driving Cameras and Non-Seat belt cameras the tossers in charge of the road safety council will never shift their focus away from targeting speeding and/or Hoon related driving incidents.

Doing 5 over is hardly dangerous given todays cars and the draconian mind numbing limits in place, but its so easy to chuck speed cameras everywhere and ping joe public for creeping over the limit goind down a hill.

If those other cash printing cameras were invented I guaran-fucken-tee you would hear a lot less about the speed issue and the fatality rate would halve.

guy at work got pinged 70 over the limit by a camera. next day the police turned up here at work to issue the summons.. be ready!! marmion is 70kph limit isn't it?

I remember (way back) in the day getting pinged doing 171 down the freeway. took the police 2 exits to catch me from the overpass. they were good though, just had a chat and wrote me the ticket for $350 and 6 points.. that was before the govt realised how stupid the general public are and began squeezing us motorists for every last cent!

It is blatantly obvious that it is a money collecting scam when the demerits dont move, but the fines triple. it would be the other way if they actually wanted speeders off the roads, but they dont! They have to keep putting the fines up because they are issuing less, and need to keep the money rolling in!

yep that's why they only double demerits and not the fines on long weekends etc - they use this as thinly veiled evidence to support their argument that its not only about revenue !!!

Everyone this side of buttf*cking idaho knows that speed camers are 98% revenue raisers, 2% road safety tools.

If you think about the last 5 times you came very close to having a crash, I bet you will find that speed had no part but it was the other idiot who cant lane change/merge/indicate or drive to conditions.

I have at least 2 people pull out in front of me every single day I reckon, never mind the lane changers who dont look!!

I love my escort radar detector.

has saved me $$$$$

honestly 90% of the fines I've had have been from not concentrating, and going like 7k's over by accident

........

of course its not really gonna do much if you're going 140

well the cops havnt showed up which is a good sign lol and we were trying to get past a silvia which explains a lot but I dont think the cops will like 'ohh mate we were just trying to chop a silvia' haha. speed limit is 80. I got done in my dads commo a while ago when I looked down after being flashed and hitting the brakes I was doing 110 but the camera only clocked me doing 97 soooo we might be lucky and get away with a few less k's. started saving already
