Ahhh just remember the ford ECU can be tricky even for tuners. For example my old man had his car tuned by a known tuner (who does alot of LS1's, ford V8's etc) which has not had alot of experience with his particular car (despite having the software). The results seemed ok but it was the small things that the tuner couldn't work out due to all the in-built codes, resolving the problem is still on-going. Best thing is to take it to someone who has tuned these cars 100's of times before and can diagnose problems easily. It's the only way, and can save headaches in the long run.

If I want a doughnut I go to dounghnut king, when F6 Ute wants some new pantyhose he goes to Bra's & things, when youngy wants a new blow up doll he goes to adultshop etc etc.

On the otherhand there is nothing wrong with trying something new and we all benefit from others experiences both good and bad.

I definitely understand what your saying but while Sean may not have touched many XR's (or might not even be willing- hes hasnt got back to me) hes played with his fair share of 8's and lots of jap cars (cause lets face it, owners of jap cars have been playing with ecu's and turbo engines for years, so theres a great market for tuners) with some serious power. He's certainly up there with Perths best tuners. I've seen video of an F6 on the dyno after a "custom" tune and the pinging was easily heard :(

I suppose as the end of the day all that matters is building a trusting relationship with a tuner and mechanic who will take care of you 50K pride and joy! History has told me this can be hard...

But give it a few years and there'll be a fair few more options and tuners floating around! Definitely the next cult car! Affordable, cubes and boost. Cant go wrong!

Spotted 1Short in my rear view mirror gaining rapidly on the FWY :roflmbo:

That thing is a weapon, and such a sleeper (it's so quiet!)

Ha ha. Yes it's nicer now with the new tune. Just need to teach Narelle how to do better gear changes - 2nd to 4th when she took off from Kingsley Drive lights. Trying to get down to Motorplex on the 30th.

I'm no sweet fa about flywheels' so here goes. Does the F6 and XR6T use the same flywheel? I'm sussing out my clutch options and wondering if it's worth changing the flywheel for ~ 280rwkws?
