Hey all - Just a quick one for ya's...

Whats the go with servicing your XR?

Ive been told that to keep the warranty valid, you must have it serviced every year?

Ive had a 3000km service, car is on the brink of 6000kms and apparently it has to be serviced again?

Just called and booked it in and they have said it is needed as the car is nearly a year old and they have quoted me $290 (gave me discount, was supposed to be $340). Said they re torque all the intake manifolds and heatshielding as well as general service??

Is this a piss take or does everyone do this? If not, what do you suggest or when and where do you service your cars??

Cheers in advance............................

Hey mate

If you look in the manufacturers handbook under scheduled servicing it will tell you how often the car should be serviced. If you are only doing 6000km in 12 months then it's going to seem weird, but yes it should be serviced at least every 12 months (the way my kms stack up I go every 6 months).

As for the price... its a bit hit and miss. It depends what dealer you go to and what day you ask them and what mood they are in. I have had servicings for $95 (I supplied oil and filter) and $145 including tightening bolts. Others have asked the same dealer and even mentioned that I got it cheaper, and they quoted $199 (Centre ford) plus oil and filter. To me 290 seems pretty steep, so shop around. Ask Matt at Centre Ford for a price, and if they give you a better price, ring your closest dealer and see if they can match it. If not, take it to Centre Ford.

Spotted a silver XR6T ute this morning... Looked nice, had nice tint, a meshman kit and an aftermarket front mount. Was parked up at a construction site in Currambine and had a toolbox in the back so was prob a tradie on the townhouses... Plate 1CGW ***.

Also spotted Muzza rollin on his 20's lastnight at the joondalup drive and shenton intersection lights......

Saw a Blueprint ba xr6t in rockingham today with personalized plates, they were XR-604 (numbers I think are a little different but it started with 6)

Anyone on here by any chance?

saw a white T this morning near Joondalup with Monarch inside. Hadn't heard of a white one prior but I'm sure it was a T. Only caught it out of the corner of my eye though so might have been wrong.

There's a few white turbos floating around. They're not all that common though.

My Bad - by Monarch I menat coppers.

I knew there was some black one's getting around as unmarked vehicles but hadn't seen a white one as yet.

Makes sense it would happen though.
