They are holding the power fine for me for the most part and unlike the invos they aren't wearing out so quick. they are 275/35/19s.

edit The ku36s look nice!

I didnt realise they were discontinued either cause the tyre bloke was telling me the ku31s I wanted were discontinued. what type of world do we live in ahaha

Yeh I was under the impression ku31 was being replaced by ku39 as well? But then kyle got some which were 2015?

I had 275/35/18 ku39s a while back....stupidly better than the falken pt 722 (damp/slightly wet = slidey times). But yeh I was sold them as the replacement for ku31and this was back in 2014. I was lucky....must have been a glitch in their system cause I paid around $220 delivered IIRC.

I used to get KU31 a lot and then they were discontinued and replaced by the newly released KU39...that must have been 4 years ago at least!  I see both are still on the Kumho website though.  WTF.

Murdok don't you have well over 400rwkw?  Maybe you're a kind driver.  Didn't think the KU39 were supposed to be that grippy.  The Kumhos always seemed to be a good budget tyre that did the job when new but got terrible at lower tread levels - noisy and sometimes slippery in the wet.  Might be true of most tyres though...when do you ever compare old worn tyres to old worn tyres, right?  Only ever put new ones on.

The only tyre that's blown me away first up and stayed impressive on the rears are the Pilot Sport 3 I still have on.  Stuck EXCELLENTLY in seriously wet conditions from a stand still and are still great performers.  They now slide from second to third under WOT but have 18,000km or so on them according to my photo logs, and I'm always giving it a hit.  Interested to see how they go in the wet with a lot of kms on them.

Edit - Website says the KU39's are the flagship tyre for high power prestige cars.  Rates them a tiny bit better than the KU31 for wet or dry grip and a tiny bit less for longevity.  Same for noise level.

I can only really compare to the invo or ku 31 but I think what makes me happy the most is value for money.

As you say steve for a budget performance tyre I rate them.

If you hard launch it from the line then yeah its a big smoke show and you aren't  going anywhere fast but im guessing most tyres on the market will be the same.

Dont ask me about cornering performance cause car is boat
