What is the torque on the stock caliper bolts btw?

Tighten until the head snaps off.

Replace broken bolt with new one.

Don't tighten the new one up quite as much.

Hey Gents,

On the topic of brakes and such - Is anyone else in need of any IRON-X (Wheel cleaner/iron remover/decontamination agent) Stuff is gold!

I'm going to be getting some more soon as my DS pads saw me run through my last bottle pretty quickly hahaha. (Thanks to GeGe6 for holding mine until I could pick it up last time :spoton:)

I'd be looking at least for a litre but may just bite the bullet and shell out for the 4L bottle. If anyone is keen, drop me a PM and we can see how we go :) Could save on Postage if a few are keen?

Cheers,

Dan

Dan, I still have 4 liters of Kyle's here.

Might be worth asking him if he wants to sell it or some of it.

Just a thought?

You didn't hit me up about the SC-7 stance in a txt the other day, did you?

I'm being like for cereal guys...

I'll find out what size bolt it is and look up the standard torque for that bolt size. ?

Buy Brembos like I did and forget about ever having to remove and re tighten caliper bolts again simply to change pads. They just slide out the top of the caliper now thanks to these handy pins :D

Wheel nuts still have to come off but those are much harder to break muahahaha

Besides I know the correct torque for them anyway (125Nm or 135Nm depending which page you read in the BF workshop manual).

I have the brake caliper torque specs page in front of me and still can't figure out which one I should have used on the factory calipers. It was the caliper slide bolt that I broke, but that's not mentioned. I used the "caliper mounting bolt" spec which is probably three or our times as much as it should be hahaha.

Well the suspension hasn't fallen out in the few years it's been in there so that's something at least.

They don't exactly vibrate loose, but do them up moderately tight, and with some Loctite on them if you're concerned.

I use my loctite 264 on my arrow heads.
