Phil

I got two nitto Invo tires not being used at the moment. they are 245/35R19 with about 40-60% tread left in them.

I recently replaced all 4 boots to have continental and see what the difference is.

If you want them, send me a pm or call me. I am sure you still got my number.

very nice of you ! :)

I would say it would be a tad low for the pits ... ie: the inspection guys like seeing newish tyres, as it "shows" that the car is looked after / money spent on it / not skimped elsewhere... could be worth a try though, but then its another $70-90 for re-inspection if it fails

Wouldn't you just tell them to get f*cked....if its above indicators that's LEGAL and they can go EAD.

Obviously you would say all that in a nice way though :P

it is legal Peter, but put it this way .... new tyres shows to the inspector that the owner put effort and money into safe and roadworthy ... old tyres shows the "safest" avenue hasnt been taken, sure its legal, but what else has been shortcutted is what the inspector thinks.

Yeh I guess you have a point there.

Suppose they might go a little easier on inspecting every little thing on your car....I've never had to go over the pits, so not sure how fussy most people are. All I know is if that was the only thing they questioned on my car, I'd be challenging them big time lol

And Luke couldn't just laziness cause uneven wear and not necessarily mean there is something wrong with the car I.e. not getting regular wheel alignments and driving fast through corners..

1) the car will get a complete thorough inspection as it has not been registered in WA before ... it wont be lenient.

The pits have gone through a restructure due to dodgy places being halted, a lot of people had to get their cars re-examined due to this.

They have "the hand of god" regarding if your car passes or not... best not to piss them off.

2) Laziness regarding tyres can mean laziness with other car issues.

Legit though....if they found something wrong, would they have the power to revoke ones rego?
