Spotted (by) LazyBrennan today up at Hoddywell archery park in Toodyay. After doing the beginner trail Jen and I joined him and Annie on the intermediate trail and had a great time. I should have run the cruise up there that I was thinking of doing a couple years back, it's a great activity Jen and I have done a few times now. Also hilarious seeing people hit the trees or bounce the arrow off the ground into the target! Think I'm gonna be sore tomorrow though, first time with a 50lb bow. Thankfully compound so it gets easier at full draw. 15 targets after coming from a 9 target trail with a 20lb (recurve) bow was a bit of a jump. Keen to buy my own and make use of the 5 acres we bought hahaha...

Was an awesome day mate cheers! Looking at buying a couple of the diamond infinite edge pros. I'll try not to hit a tree next time O.o

Doesn't Steve just look fabulous in his partners jacket?

So you did get a good pic after all.......let the record show it was a very tight fit and I'm comfortable with my masculinity, just don't like being cold.

I think I'm going for the Samick Sage Recurve. Cheap at $250 and reviews are overwhelmingly positive as an entry level to intermediate bow, and I like the feel\experience of the recurve bows better than the mechanical compound bows despite being less accurate/consistent. Also less to worry about in terms of bow "tuning". Plus since it's a takedown design the limbs can be changed for higher/lower draw weight items without buying a whole new bow. Might start on 30 or 35lb and see how I go!

I talked to my young fella and we might nick up there and scare a few trees soon.

Were you not using a finger tab Steve?

The young fella doesnt but I have girly office hands so need the protection.

I'm keen on a tab next time out, the string has little finger protector roller things on it but I think I did actually do a small bit of damage to one finger, where the string was sitting in the joint instead of the fleshy finger part. Slowly losing the constant tingly feeling and soreness if I press on it...girly office hands reprazent.

Jen said I can't buy the bow until she's up there with me again. Not like I can fire it in the burbs anyway, would have to be a weekend visit to our empty property and hope the neighbours sheep aren't hanging around :)

I have accidentally shot a sheep once, for reals.

Will tell you the story one day.

Was pretty funny.

Although the sheep didn't appear impressed.

Not necessarily, just get a really high poundage bow.
