Asphalt has never been good to me, im much more of a dirt guy. Bike is so I can stop putting Km's on my ute. Driving down Leach highway this arvo with dirt bike on back, and turned off at Albany Highway... noticed a black GT on the right hand side as I pulled off, and said GT waved at me. unsure if its a person on here or just someone who liked my set-up.... Fastest accelerating? fairly certain the hayabusa is the highest speed production bike, but not sure if it would be the fastest accelerating. But from a standing start, the wheelbase is against them.Theres some fkn quick K1200 BMW's around too. When it comes to go fast stuff, the hayabusa is the chevy small block of the bike world. Theres a million things out there for them.Theyre all speed limited to 186mph so bog stock top speed is irrellevant.

Good size and torquey. You can sneakily derestrict them when you want more but the 300 will only ever go like a 300.IMO 600 4cyl sports in bikes are gutless unless you rev the nuts off them and you probably already know theyre not LAMS legal.

After researching a couple of the nicer bikes I've settled on the 300. It's a twin, which the KTM I likes isn't, it's at the pointy end of the power to weight limit of the R-E class, I can get a real nice one for $4-5k. And it's practical. The MX bike is for the fun

Unless you are 5 foot and weigh 50kg you will get over a 250/300 soon. One of my favorites is the Speed Triple

(illegal obviously). The Ninja 300 is nice enough. I got to ride a mates one home for him after he bought it. Feels similar to the ninja 250, but you don't get that lag from the carby motor.
