Just like some opinions, and maybe someone knows this guy - seems to know common issues with the B-series.

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/ballajura/cars-vans-utes/2003-ford-xr6t-xr6-rebuilt-gearbox-tailshaft-new-diff-bushes/1064667963

I was chasing a BF with the goodies, but come to think of it, I probably won't be able to get one in my range and also have cash left over for pre-start - so I'm more than likely looking at getting a BA.

From first looks (besides the stripes) this seems like a decent seller and car. Opinions?

Although it does come unpainted like Steve's but that could be dealt with later - or so that's what Steve keeps saying..

Wouldn't you be better off paying the little bit more for the bf?

I think your previous link was best (BF MKII 2007 with ZF was like 10k?). That sounds like a bargain to me

Also don't the BA's have a sh*t time at trying to get over 300rwkw? I assume you will chase power later on

Edit: or maybe that was the one ralph spotted with the BA front bar lol get mechanic to look over and see if repair was done correctly?

BA's have a sh*t time full stop. Depends what he wants to do with it. If he's gonna spend a lot obviously it'll be ok but we all know BA's have their fair share of issues holding any kinda power without spending a fortune. If you can afford the extra mate, jump on a BF. Better gearbox, motor, everything. and for like 1,300 more? I'd definitely go the BF.

Not chasing big power, but will hold onto the car for 4-5 years. More than likely won't do anything for a few years IF I do anything at all. House comes first, I just want to be driving a T again.

Only issue with that one I linked before is that as Ralph said it has a replaced front bumper (crashed/damaged somehow), or it's not really a BF, although it did have all the supporting features to say it was a BF.

The guy hasn't got back to me on it yet either, and its been up for quite a while so I'd say its gone.

If you keeping the car for a while...I rekon you'll give in eventually and get a tune :P

And I wouldn't rule off all accident ones...you never know it could have just been his mrs who was reversing and hit something low and put a crack in the bar lol

But yeah...if the guy isn't replying then maybe hes too lazy to remove the ad. I hate kents who do that!

Good luck in your search...I'm sure the perfect one will pop up eventually

Haha the tune is always tempting. I have owned 2 of these and the first one I had tuned, the second one I restrained myself from doing so.

Both have been BFs, so I would like to keep to a BF but as budget permits it may not be possible.

There's only a handful of BFs in Perth, and they are either all stupidly high kms with just all the standard inclusions for 12+ grand or decent with what I want for over my limit (16+ grand)

I'm in no rush so I'll wait until something pops up. I've been told this is the last car for at least 5 years - I have a tendency to change cars every 1.5-2 years or so lol

Yeah just be patient and im sure something will pop up.

You can always get a 5 year loan and buy an FG....then you will be forced to keep it for 3-5yrs (cause you will owe more on the loan than the resale value) hahaha

I stupidly did a 7 yr loan...so I dont see myself selling until the 6 yr mark :P

Also Jezza's car has the same white worm rim issue that I have on the Typhoon 18s, already been PMing him on Antilag hoping to score some better condition rims :) But no go.
