Hey random question for anyone who can be bothered...

Should the oil in my 2001 ford laser be fine for between 9-12months? Unsure which oil in particular; but has been to mechanics so assume some cheaper castrol/shell/etc brand that they use. Currently doing 10,000kms in that period and have been servicing it every 10k kms.

But I completely forgot about the 6 month OR 10,000kms rule that most mechanic stickers will say?

The last 2 services were done at 8 month and 10 month intervals with 10k kms between each one.

Should I actually stick to the 6 month rule or cause its a little 4 banger it should be right? :P

Almost 89,000kms and last service at 80k in April 2014 (I.e. 9 months ago).

I don't think it should be too much of an issue. If you want the thing to last obviously less is better. It can't hurt, what would it take anyways, a $35 dollar, 5L bottle of castrol that you can change in no time anyways? It's probably worth it mate :) I certainly would. At 89,000kms I gather it's somewhat well kept and drives well, if it was a beaten up hunk of crap with 300,000kms I'd say don't bother.

Yeah I know im being stingy...but I can't do anything myself...so it is $140 lol I also only go mechanics to get the stamp in the book :P

I think I read on google that some manufacturers do yearly intervals...and its not like it gets driven hard and is the POS work car

And yeah I paid a bit of a premium cause the low kms. Picked it up around 58k kms. First owner was definitely old people...who did service every 6 months (cause Ford probably reminded them to do so). Some intervals were like 1500kms (but arronm can prob beat that lol).

Second owner only did one service (in the log book anyways)...then ive been doing every 10,000kms.

Yeah, well it's up to you mate. I don't imagine the car will be having any issues. Next service take note of how many kms and length between services and ask them what the oil was like. You shouldn't have an issue with it. Check your PM's too mate

Spotted 2 cars yesterday.

Spotted a BF/II Silk XR6 Turbo, 1DRN something I think... Looked stock. Was driving in front of him in a Volvo V40. Was driving on somerville parade where it hits north lake.

Also spotted a guy turning from leach onto Winthrop drive in a silver B series ute with black rims, intercooler, made a nice flutter. Had a monsta torque stick on the windscreen, no custom plates.

I am pretty sure that is Krazy Kyle. Those red and black rims are unique.... :P

The whole cruise idea for Saturday has gone quite, so made plans to catch up with folks.

So going to throw it out there for just a meet up Sunday evening.

Maybe somewhere on the coast or even meet up at kings park (central), then cruise to one of the beach carparks.

It would be good to catch up for a bullsh*t, and opportunity to take photos, etc.

Any thoughts?

Just keen to catch up and see some Fords!
