RB, which fluid did you use? I'm sure there's a Castrol one that already contains the friction modifier and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. When I got it done at the tuna it was exxy.

Yeah, as stated Castrol Syntrax is the stuff I use. Use to be called Castrol SAF-XA or something like that. Just get a pump and fill it with 1.8L, not worth paying somebody to do.

Sorry for the previous cursing, but I got under the rear of the car and had a look for the 30/31/32 fill plug and could not find it.

I searched the forums and found the sedan diff oil thread. My diff had the hex plug.

Grabbed the allen keys/hex tools and got the fill plug out. swapped the oil out and replaced it with Nulon 80w-140.

I am so glad I swapped the diff oil out. It was black.

Helped a homodore owner service his car after doing my diff oil. he hadn't done the service for 40,000 km.

The oil came out like syrup and black. at the bottom of the oil catch tray, where the dirty oil was, it was contaminated with metal bits.

I just laughed my arse off and asked him how long he planned on keeping the car.

Plan on getting the brakes sorted out tomorrow.
