Should be able to get an exhaust shop to throw something together for less than $50. Id suggest replacing it with a hi flow car....Im currently running the 4" SMB Cat @ 300+ rwkw....the cat does a great job. I have however also changed my dump pipe to a split pipe system, but will once again change that soon to a 4" pipe. galconn Member 101 Member For: 19y 9m 10d Posted 18/12/05 06:18 AM Share Posted 18/12/05 06:18 AM I was faced with a similar dilemma, very little info around to make an informed decision. Finally took the gamble and fitted the John Bowe signature Stainless exhaust (cat back) and then replaced the factory cat with a 3 inch inlet and outlet (4 inch diam metal catalyst) 'Metal' cat supplied by PSIPRODUCTS PTY LTD. The unit is about 11 inches long and all stailess steel including the catalyst at 200 cell/sq inch. Also decided to have a heat shield fitted between chassis and exhaust pipe leaving air gag between chassis. The shield starts at the turbo pipe to first resilient exhaust mount about 75cm long and replaces factory lagging. All up cost ie labour and parts $800. The new cat increased power by 5KW. The exhaust pipe was reduced in two stages from 3 inch cat outlet to 2 1/2 to standard 2 1/4 after Y junction. Hope this info is of some use.
