Hi Wendy

To tell you the truth I use the stock standard wash and wax I got at supercheap (it was one of their "car washing packs" which gave me a 500ml of wash and wax, an ok sponge, a fairly good chamois, and I threw in a thing of armour all) and it actually does a really good job...

When giving the car a good clean (beyond the car lovers experience) I usually start with a general wash, chamois dry and then armour all anything that looks like it could need it... The result is actually something that looks pretty good... As the final touch I have also brought a little tube of silhouette touch-up paint from ford... It cost about $13 for a little tube with a brush but you don't usually need much and it keeps it looking extra good...

I'll have a look tonight and get brand names for you if you'd like... (I'm sure others will give more expensive brands but I'm personally very happy with the results)

(I'll also post a pic of the result as well...)

Regards

Andrew

POLYGLAZE "Diamond finish" & "Wash N Wax" worked a treat on the AU III VCT (Sillhouette). Believe it or not. Crap on Phantom though :pinch:

Meguiars GOLD CASS shampoo and wax worked a treat as well :spoton:

Hi Pat,

I use only Meguair's products on my ute. I've had it for 2 1/2 years now and there are no swirl marks on it like so many other cars I've seen.

Since your ute is black (a dark colour) you will need to polish and wax. On light colours just waxing is fine.

Have a go at this link: Rx Paint Car Prescription

Cheers,

Adam. :spoton:

I feel your pain Pat. While I managed to talk my wife into a T instead of an XR8 or SS, she insisted on Black, even though she hits a 1km dirt road almost every day (horses)!!! Makes my life a hell trying to keep it clean. Chamoise is a MUST!

Mind you, when the lease ends she's agreed not to go for a dark colour again (phew!).

Currently I'm using Bowdens and the stuff seriously rocks. Was a Meguiars "GOLD CLASS/WET LOOK" fan for a long time until I used Bowdens, excellent result. Not to say the Meguiars products are not any good, they are excellent but the finnished result on the ute, mmm, big improvement. The new hardlid will be copping a polish over the weekend...lol. :spoton:
