just checked out the best mufflers web site... they want $1250 fitted... there was a bloke on this site about 5 weeks ago selling the same exhaust for $850... best mufflers say it takes one hour to fit... that's $400 for one hours work

best to find the bloke that sells them for $850 and get someone else to fit it

I too had my center muffler out b4 this exhaust and all I can say is that the ss system from xforce sounds so much smoother no burrble I mean m,y mates car sounds probley tougher as he has the centre muffler removed but mine is faster, 20rwkw fast, before the edit.

I mean there are other brands like herrod and SMB but for hlaf the price I would go the xforce, for whats left u can put a custome edit in it

Yep no burble on back off with the 3" SS xforce as per the removed centre muffler mod, noise levels are similar however more refined and deeper as mattri has said.

I was told that the cat on the system is a bit restrictive so if you do something about that you will notice a further improvement. I did and it's a whole different system under load, gives the car a more "race bred" type sound. Still no droning, gurgling and popping I've heard on other systems though.

I think from memory the $850 was a one-off not to be repeated however $1,250 fitted still represents good value for $$.

I Have a SS Xforce on my Ute, Not bad. Hard To say there was a power increased.

The CAT I blown apart the less then 2 weeks. So yeah Get a better CAT.

Sound alright, not too loud at all.

Best Mufflers were saying to change the Dump To a 4" instead of 3" as 300+ the 4" is needed.

Yeap, dump pipe needs to be changed to go more then approx 270rwkw, this is the max power I hit before we had to increase the size of the exhaust system, including the cat and dump pipe.

Last I heard they cant get them anymore. Regardless, $850 is how much you should be paying for the mild steel system.

Either way, Bestmufflers does provide Awsome service, Chris has done a number of exhausts on my car and I have never had any problems.

I recieved a bit of attitude from Croydon when I called them for information (over the phone), so id be saying stick to Best Mufflers if you are in syd.

um, not sure I follow your questions. Let me be a bit more specific on my previous post.

I was running the std dump pipe with the 3" dump pipe back system (including the same cat you get on these systems now). I had that setup tuned to about 270rwkw before we found that a larger system was needed. At this point the system was upgraded to 3.5" and the time pipe is a custom split pipe, however a 4" pipe would be more then enough for over 300rwkw.
