Hey guys...

As I have a T5 and don't wanna lunch my T5 by having a world of torque kill it, I was thinking of getting an edit done but having a more efficent intercooler fitted at the same time, rather than injectors and valve springs... as I think the intercooler will make the edit more repeatable performance wise...

Has anyone done this?

Because I figure I can do valve springs and injectors and transmission upgrade later on if I want to, but I think from reading all the posts about performance and stuff that the valve springs and injectors will take me too close to edge of killing my T5... whereas an edit and 'cooler will make my car repeatable perfomance wise and also more efficient to drive regardless of the weather be it hot or cold...

What do you guys think? Am I mad? Do I not know what I am on about? Or is this a plausable 1st modification?

Cheers

For a mild upgrade I think the combination you have mentioned would work just fine. The cooler would probably give you a few more kw's aswell as that repeatable performance your after.

with e T5 the mods you have mentioned are the best option IMO...you can safely pump out a repeatable 240-250 rwkw.... you dont want more then that with the T5 :spoton:

And currently, considering I have to drive my car to work everyday and reliability is a huge concern... and though my no. plates might suggest I want to be BCL... I don't... I reckon you boys are right... repeatable performance is what I am after, not a dyno queen or track weapon yet... just something that when I wake up in the morning for work I can't wait to drive to...

A very good first option.

I would suggest that you start with the cheapest and open up the air intake before the IC and edit.

Also, TELL YOUR TUNER that you are looking for longevity rather than max power and torque. That way you will be fine. :nono:
