While the valve springs were being done I also had the wastegate actuator upgraded to control boost more effectively. McInerney Ford in Morley carried out this work and did an excellent job.Yesterday I had a 3.5" single system fabricated by Australian Performance Centre in North Perth to complement the SMB 4" dump pipe and 4" cat the car already has.As a baseline run car put down 302rwkw, after some massaging it ended with 330rwkw. Fuel of choice was BP Ultimate, boost maximum boost was 16 psi.Mods so far consist of engine which still retains stock internals, stock intercooler piping, stock inlet manifold and cross-over pipes, 2nd cai using standard airbox with BMC air filter. Have fitted bigger injectors and AutoSport Engineering front mount intercooler, and Mal Wood Automotive Stage 3 clutch kit. I will be upgrading the organic clutch plate to a semi-metallic unit next week to cope with the extra power.Fuel mixtures were around 11.5 in the mid-range, but leaned off to mid 12's at peak rpm. I discovered the fuel level was running low, hence the lean-out. Time to install a fuel header tank and second fuel pump to alleviate this problem. While the car was sitting on the dyno we decided to find out if the fuel pump mod would fix the problem; unfortunately it didn't, but at least its done.A big thanks to the guys at Australian Performance Centre in Perth for manufacturing the exhaust to exactly what I required, and a big thanks to the guys at Australian Performance Centre in Wangara for the use of their dyno and facilities Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cannot stop the engine from leaning out over 4500rpm now, even after the fuel tank has been refilled.Any suggestions as to what is a suitable replacement fuel pump? Need something to support around 400rwkw with some reserve. I may use the factory pump to feed a header tank and install a Bosch 044 pump to supply the engine.At this stage I think I'll peg the power at 330rwkw with the stock internals even though I think 350rwkw isn't that hard to achieve with a good fuel system. I'll look at getting the bottom end done with either a built unit like the Atomic product or getting mine rebuilt. Will decide in the next few weeks.Might even look at getting the Nizpro inlet manifold, but at this stage the factory setup still hasn't run out of puff yet. I'm surprised it hasn't, but now believe it will probably support up to 350 plus rwkw.While I was at APC today I also touched up a generic CAPA 10 psi tune I supplied to a forum member from Perth. All MkII builds from 05/05 have the upgraded valve springs, same as what is fitted to the F6 Tornado/Typhoon. Mine unfortunately didn't fall into this build date, as it is a 01/05 build.I opted for the Boss 290 Inlet spring as they are stronger than the F6 spring.I don't know about limit, but my springs started to fail after 25,000k's running over 11psi.
