He knew the risks before he chose to smuggle drugs, Simple

The amount of Herion he had on him once cut will equate to approx 24000 hits of the Sh*t for people to get addicted to, one hit is all you need!!

Now this is Singapore's law, it is there country and should have nothing to do with us, we would all jump up and down if they came here and said our laws did not apply to them wouldn't we??

Good riddance I say, one less scum bag!

This is just my personal opinion and each to their own

Well I'll be the one to disagree :gooff:

And if you follow this same stance eveyrone is taking do the crime do the time or DEATH in this case. THe bali nine should all be hung aswell.... but somehow ppl take a different view on that which just shows the level of hypocricy around.

He should have got life, not the death penalty.

Bali nine..... plenty of rope left on the coil if they are found guilty

The thing that is annoying me are some of the suggestions for "retaliation" that have been suggested, from people who will never go there against through to Australia imposing trade sanctions again Singapore... Are we really ready to shot ourselves in the foot over the death of one d*ckhead???

I'm in two minds about this.

On one hand, he knew what he was doing and we must pay for our actions in this world, and to think of the pain/hurt he could've caused so many......

On the other hand, locking him up forever would've achieved the same result IMO.

Would the execution really act as a deterant to others?

Or would it be forgotten about in 2 weeks time by the next idiot who tries move some drugs?

I guarantee the Mother of the executed bas*ard won't have forgotten about it by then.....

my cousin got involved in smuggling but he was one of the lucky ones..

he lived in South Africa and started hanging around the wrong crowd, as we all seem to do at that age 19-21 etc.. except over there the wrong crowd is a lot worse than here..

anyway he was offered US$25,000 to bring 2kg of coke from Buenos Aires into Australia which he stupidly accepted.. anyway so he flies to argentina and the stuff gets delivered to his hotel room, and he panics and thinks fook this sh1t and tries to get out of it..

Dealers produce accurate details of his parents, cousins and friends phone numbers, addresses, workplaces and weekend habits and say that it would be easy for them to have an accident etc,...just like in the movies !!!

anyway he agrees to go thru with it and gets caught surprise surprise.. luckily the adult age over there is 21 and he was 20 and therefore is spending his 5 year sentence in a 'decent' jail and has access to learning materials etc.

at no point do I think he should be executed for what he was trying to do, but the law is the mofo law no matter what country you are in and needs to be obeyed.

nang, I disagree, just because you have a connection with someone doesn't make what they did any less meaningfull.

It's like making a bet. There is a chance you will win, there are odds you will loose.

In these ppl's world, they are gambling with life. IF they accept the bet, the acceprt the losses that come with it.

Why do you think the big boys get monkeys to run the drugs?? They aint so atupid!!

F6 Ute, nah im not saying just cause I know him that it makes it any less bad or illegal what he did, hes the tool that started hanging with bad people in the beginning and it is all his fault.. he knows that and is taking it like a man, but he is very lucky to *only* get 5 years !!!!!

Same with Van Ngyuen, he knew the risks and took them and got caught so he should face the appropriate ramifications in that particular country.

im not aware of the laws in singapore but I would hope the penalties for rape and murder would be the death penalty as well because IMO they are a lot worse than smuggling drugs

So murder by government order is ok?

WTF

No one MAKES these ppl use drugs they choose to. There will always be drugs, petrol metho whatever you cannot force ppl to take drugs, they choose to.

So their gov/legal system chose to murder someone. Call it law, call it war, its murder and the only person hurt was his family and freinds.
