Those times are since I had the T56 put in and the best to date is 12.6x. I wish I had a ute or a spare $2.5k for stronger CV's so I could get it off the line quicker though :thumbsup:

yeah, the old manuals aren't the easiest to get down the quarter, I ran 13.08 on street tyres and full weight with around 315rwkw - I reckon there was a very high 12 in it at that power, I'm using a T56 box also

I've just had a retune to about 340rwkw and I reckon I can get into the twelves with that, maybe mid twelves with some stickier tyres

But as MUZ580 said, the launch is the hardest thing in these, especially since they weigh so much

Good luck mate, but it ain't easy your fist time out, so be prepared to go back a few times!

Looking at your sig, there's no way you had 315rwkw. A car doing 108mph will have around 250rwkw.

So wat could a 4spd Auto T ute with 300rwkw do on the strip? Besides nuking the trans all over the track.....

You want sub 1.8 sec 60fts to even start thinking about 11's. I'm no expert though and have only watched XR6T's run at motorplex.

Flat shifting is a necessity and a driveline that can take the punishment. Roughly every tenth at the 60ft will yield double that at the end.

As an example of difficulty in running an 11, youngy's first attempt was a 12.2 and it took some time practicing and trying different tune variations to put down an 11.70. F6 UTE was the same and worked his balls off practicing and changing tunes to run 11.80

But hey don't let the difficulty stop you, get out there, start practicing and learn from the other guys also out there having fun :-) Persistence pays off!

back to the original question, what does it take?

the answer... as proven by those few that have done it...

350+rwkw

a good clutch, not the standard POS in xr6t. phoon is ok.

nice sticky tyres, pref MT et streets or similar, or full slicks...

much practice.

that's what it takes...

I did my first with 311rwkw.

Injectors, cat punch and edit people. - 11.87 @ 117mph and a 1.8 60'.

Next up, cooler and injectors etc, 326rwkw and 35 degrees, middle of the day, 1.61 60' for an 11.81 @ 116mph

you don't need power.

lol I did my 11.9 with a 60' 0.57 seconds slower than your 60'.

It definitely pays to know how to launch, and until one does it doesn't matter how much power you have .... speaking from experience (or is it inexperience?)!
