We all know that it will never be as fast as a tornado but it has that v8 thing going for it and it isn't a shabby jigger.I could never allow myself to say try the LS2 but I few of my friends in the ute club love their Maloo's they look tuff from the outside but I agree the interior is not up to the same level as the Ford. The FPV's are tempting, l havent driven an F6/Tornbado nor a GT for a couple of years so not sure who much improved they are since l had my original GT.Have you consdiered the Evo 9? that's ones car that l am seriosuly considering. The other is the limited release of the Sti tuned Liberty. These rae being out at the end of the year, there will only be 300. If you like the Liberty and want something a touch more tuned and exclusive that would just about be the pick.

I'd like to see what they do with the GT as its currently being run out due to emmisions and if they'll bring it back with the 2.5 next year but I cant wait that long.I like the EVO but as most of my drivings freeway and they have no cruise it rules them out. If its that much better than an Sti it must be f*cking amazing

BMW are releasing the 130i in a few weeks. It has a revised version of the 3.0l Six that puts out 190kw. Now that would be one hot hatch. The BMW 6 is an awesome engine but in a htach that weighs only 1450kg, wow. The model coming here comes with the M pack and is going to retail for around $60-62k l think with all the fruit. vibe ute Member 158 Member For: 19y 5m 22d Posted 27/11/05 07:05 AM Share Posted 27/11/05 07:05 AM I've done 3000km in my Maloo now & while I might be a bit biased, if you enjoy spirited driving on a winding road, with the ability to cart a few things in the back, the Maloo's pretty hard to beat. Fuel economy is about 1.5l/100km better than my T on average, it makes power everywhere from 1500rpm to the shift light at 6300rpm, no waiting to build boost or trying to keep in the right rev range. It was a difficult decision for me too as I prefer the look of the FPV's & I'm traditionaly a Ford person, but the Maloo's probably as close as you can get to sedan handling in a ute & is 200kg lighter than the Pursuit. Another plus for the Maloo is 13.3 down the 1/4 for an auto, 13.5 for a manual(quoted from HSV web site), their not speed limited & will wind off the 260kph speedo. I'm not bashing the Ford products, but I do think they've got some ground to make up to be a true performance ute.Cheers, Steve.
