then I hear they just won the racv large car of the year (althought the competition didnt include the BF falcon - only BA).

I wouldn't hold to much cred on the RACV award, they voted the camira car of the year when that came out!!! :spoton:

Nah not that old mate, I'm only 25 :spoton:

I don't give much weight to any of those awards, they seem to just pick the new car on the scene everytime! :nono:

it was a big joke in the trade for years about the camira that's the only reason I remember :spoton:

Offering a good warranty which may attract some.

At least is didn't get beaten with the ugly stick as much as its predecessor.....

Overall, it is almost as 'beige' as the Avalon.... another piece of bland crap.

Not really my thing. Haven't driven one, driven previous earlier model Magnas that were good though. Don't like the "rice lights" on the rear of the 380.

The problem is IMHO there are just too many models to choose from these days. There are Falcons, Commodores, Camrys, 380s just to name a few, and then there are half a dozen or so variants of each. With the higher petrol prices these days the average punter who buys a car just to get around (as opposed to enthusiests like us who buy cars for driving pleasure) are looking for more economical 4 cyl (and hybrid) type cars.

I have not driven a 380 yet. But on paper, I would have expected that the VRX, because I perceive it as being marketed as the sporty version, ought to have had some sort of power increase or torque increase or something performance enhancing. It just gets a barely noticeable body kit to differentiate it from the other models and different dials on the dash, I.e. cosmetic changes. I actually like the look of the base 380 more than the VRX or GT or the luxury variant to the VRX. I read in Wheels or Motor (don't remember which) that the base actually posted faster times by 0.1 or 0.2 sec than the VRX (probably because it is lighter).

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

? - not enough power? 175 kw, exactly same as Expensive Daewoo and 7 kw less than ba falcon.

I agree with you on the take on the toyota sedans, the thing is toyota cant build enough of them, there selling big numbers - that's the worrying bit!.
