Hi Guys I just bought a New Mkii turbo, auto with premium sound, XR matts, XR scuff plate inserts, mud spatts, bonet protector, fog lamp guards, tow bar and metallic paint through a ford employee discount program and I drove it away for $35 600.

Gotta love that employee discount.

I had it on the first one and it hurts not having it now... :spoton:

I was just wondering would there be any advantage if a Ford employee you knew bought the car for you with their employee discount then sold you the car with say a small "spotters" fee? Is that illegal and would the savings warrent it. I don't know how much savings a Ford employee discount is. I imagine redoing the rego may be an few thousand after the sale, so that might negate any savings through an employee discount programme. Any comments from the gallery?

The discount is significant, but is really for Ford Emplyees and their family only.

I've never worked for FoMoCo, but the company I do work for received the same Ford benefit for 12 months as a prize.

In all the documentation I have read I haven't found anything saying how long you must have the car before selling it or anything like that. I estimate I saved around 5 grand through the program than what I could get with a well negotiated deal without it. Having to pay the stamp duty again would knock $1500 of it but there would still be a fair saving. So while technically you might be able to do it certainly is not in the spirit of the program and I doubt the dealer principal would be very happy about it if he found out either.

I don't work for Ford.

The deal I got through work stated that I must not sell within 6 months.
