I have spoken to FPV about the differences between the XR6T and the F6 and was told the suspension was different, but they wouldnot/could not give me any more info. As some of you know I had to put stiffer stock height springs to get my car into my driveway. I also got Koni shocks, so I need to know if the F6 is any lower than the T and if it is how much lower?

If it is lowered, I will need to remove my T's setup and transfer it to the F6 when I get it or I will be leaving the exhaust system on my driveway.

I also asked FPV if 17" wheels would fit the rear over the optional Brembo brakes. The useless person on the phone said that 17" were not an option so they could not fit. I tried to explain to her what I wanted, but I expect they were just reading a script and suffered from NFI when it came to left field questions. If anyone has fitted 17" to the rear of their F6 with the Brembo's, please let me know or I will need to sell my drift/burnout rubber for 18" to get over the brakes.

AFAIK, the F6 carries GT suspension. Which doesn't help you if you don't know what GT suspension consists of..

Shocks are the same as XR, Spring rates are different. They might be a beez dick lower.. Fatter sway bar I think, that's it..

Does Gt suspension have KONIS?? Im sure the old T series did and the GT/P?? had as well??? For some reason 20% stiffer rings a bell in my head for spring rate difference..........but I would no way use this figure as its purely a vauge memory.

Only the TS50 had Koni's not the TE50 not sure about the GTP but when I bought mine I was told by John Bowe that the suspension is 14% firmer than the MKI GT's as for if the F6 is the same as the GT susp I dont know

I don't think the front springs in the F6 are the same as the GT as the motor is lighter in the F6, and my Phoon does not point uphill.

Just after I bought my F6 I compared it to my mates XR6T (my old car with 60,000ks on it). The F6 was actually higher by about 15mm rear and 10mm front. But I did always carry a LOT of crap for work in the boot of the XR. :fool:

But with the big front a rear bumpers the F6 is actually much lower than the XR6T and scrapes front and rear in places I had no trouble driving thru in the XR.

Its hardly fair comparing a new car with a 2 1/2 yr old one with 60,000ks but. When I first got the F6 I thought it was much flatter in cornering and one thing I could definitely compare between the 2 was high-speed handling.

As within a month of getting both cars I took them for a fang along the same deserted country road (past Tidbinbilla).

And one section has a hard left, short straight down hill, followed by a medium right, then a long straight running parallel to the river, but it has a series of big sweeping undulations.

Funny thing was I had never noticed them before driving the T, and because I was able to get to about 140 by the time I hit the undulations, and each one the car bounced higher and then sank lower and by the time I got to the last 2 the mud flaps and plastic tray under the front bumper were going shhhhh shhhhh.

I went over the same section of road in the F6 even quicker in the F6 (sooo much fun in the twisty stuff) and then remembered the undulations, the car still bounced up and down but nowhere near as much as the XR6T did even when new.

Do you think that the 19" would make the car a bit higher ?

I really do not want to stuff around with the springs and shocks, but I have no choice as my driveway will cost too much to fix and we will be moving within 12 months.

If the F6 is lower than the T, I will have do something, the problem is not the front or rear bar, but the center underside as I have to go over a hump. I drove a Evo9 into the drive and had no problems, so it is the wheelbase not clearing the hump.
