Also - for ultimate race car - lose some weight off the car - I cant remember the ratio, but for acceleration it was something like an effective 1hp per kg reduction (or some other ratio someone?)

You could save heaps of weight from the Falcon easily - replace heavy panels with lighter material - doors, bonnet, boot etc panels, some windows, wheels, driveshaft, flywheel etc etc

My Car is auto.

Well my friends SS Late model camira always takes me at the lights, but this is because I

do not rev my car up to 2,000rp.

I just put my foot on the accelearator.

But I take him easily to 100/km and to the 400m.

I wanted to know how fast my car would do to the 400m.Myabe low 13s??

Like I said my car is running 250kwrw to 255kwrw.

I am thinking about getting cold air induction fitted on my car.

What are your thoughts guys??

I know. But there are plenty of things you can do for a road car. There are Kevlar bonnets available - look like standard ones when painted. You can do the same to the bootlid and front guards, could if keen replace some windows with lexan - and still maintain standard appearance.

Everyone seems only to happy to replace engine components, wheels etc, but not many seem to be making their car lighter. It isnt that hard.

Instead of buying SS inductions Cold Air Induction - get yourself a Typhoon or BF XR8 Second Cold air Intake - will have the same effect, or better, and cost less.

Also does your edit have the new version which is suppose to behave like an accelerator pump to enhance the throttle response?

Low 13,s on streets would be close.

Chuck a set of injectors in as well as a zorst and custom tune and you will be thumpin mid to low 12,s

The SS is at least 150kg lighter, maybe even 200kg. It also has eight cylinders producing torque at idle, you have only six. Up to 1800 rpm he has more torque. Is the SS manual? If so, he also has lower first gear than you for easier takeoffs.

To beat him across an intersection is going to cost you a lot of hard-earned. Just be content that once you're doing 60kph he's behind you and falling back rapidly from then on :nono:

PS. However if you spool up the torque convertor to 1800 rpm before lifting your brake you will match him off the line I expect. But don't do this as a regular thing or you'll eventually kill your tranny.

Could also depend on your tune.

You mentioned a max power of 255rwkw however your acceleration off the line will be dependant on how much of this is available from say 2000 - 25000rpm.

Same goes for torque .....for example 750nm @ 2500rpm certainly assists a quick getaway :nono:

just dropping your foot on the go pedal won't do it..

Foot on brake, little rev and then you will have him.

You will only have to do this a couple of times, till his confidence is shattered, then he won't try anymore...

Hey F6 Ute, that's a good suggestion. I'm also glad you guys mentioned that the Commodores will be fast out of the block. My mate has a stock auto Monaro CV8Z and I'm thinking of seeing how our cars compare on a drag strip.
