anything 10% or less ethanol is safe to my knowledge. but I think think it could corrode some engine parts of left stale for too long.. how long, I dont know.

some other more learned members could shed some light.. also, do a search, theres another thread on this 100ron fuel floating about.

I recently saw Optimax 100 at a servo in Sydney. It contains 5% ethanol and is slightly dearer than 98 Optimax.

Does anyone know if this is safe to use in our cars.

will be no probs at all it would be better if you could make some changes with your tune too get the full benifit

I tried one of the 98ron ethanol blends and had trouble starting the car after a couple of tanks went through. I persisted a for a few weeks with the car not starting first pop. Had to turn over, stop, then would start 2nd go each time.

After 1 tank of BP ultimate, back to normal. WTF.

Any gurus out there able to explain this behaviour?

I thought I might give it another go to see if the same results are seen.

Cant be to much wrong with it as the supper cars are going to be useing next year and they would not want it if were going to do any damage to there engines would they.It will give a better burn so more power so some of you guys will need to patch up your tunes. The only drama I can see is that it goes a bit funny if you leave it sitting in your tank to long so that should be no problem for most of us that use our cars everyday.

Still it could be the sweetner that Rusty needs to help him next year.
